She kissed me! Right there and then! I didn't know how, I thought it was a heat of the moment thing, but it felt like something else.
As soon as Smurfette kissed me, she looked up at me, and her eyes went as wide as mine.
"Did we just...!?" I asked, still taken aback.
"Yep, we did," Smurfette said, still blushing.
"Oh man, oh man, oh man," I said getting up and panicking, "I can't believe we just did that!"
"Nick calm down, it's okay."
"What about the others, they might freak out!"
"Hey, listen to me, it'll be okay."
I did what she said, calming myself down.
"Right, sorry," I said, "it's just that...well, this is the first time I've gone on a date so...well, you get it."
"I get it," Smurfette said, calming me, "and don't worry, this is my real first too with someone else. It'll be okay, I promise."
"A-ha!" someone called from the shadows.
We both turned, eyes widened, seeing Hefty, Stormy, Clumsy, and Lily emerge from the bushes.
"Ooh boy," I said knowing this was not gonna end well.
"See, I told you they had a thing! I told you!" Stormy gloated to the others.
"So," Hefty, "you two got a thing going on?"
"What?" I said, nervous, "No! Maybe?"
Hefty glared at me.
"Okay fine, yes we like each other a lot," I said, reluctantly.
"Yep," Smurfette said, looking at me nervously.
"Well," Hefty said, "I got only one thing to say to that!"
We braced ourselves for what was about to come, fearing it would be unpleasant.
"It's about smurfing time, you two!"
After he said that, we were both confused
"Wait, so you're not angry at us, mostly at me?" I said, concerned a little.
"Nope!" they all said in unison.
"If anything we're glad you guys went out finally," Lily chimed in.
Smurfette and I looked at each other, relieved.
"Well, glad you guys are okay with this," Smurfette said, "you wanna start heading back Nick?"
I was about to answer when I saw something bright aglow in the distance.
"Hold on a minute," I said, staring out into the distance, "I see something!"
"What is it?!" Clumsy asked, worried.
My eyes went wide.
"The village!" I said, "It's under attack!"
As soon as we saw it, we flew back immediately, racing hard against time.
"How much farther?" Stormy asked.
"I see it!" I told them, flying down to try and stop the damage, but it was too late.
When we landed, the village was in ruins, there was no one else in sight, and fires were raging.
I looked around, stunned by the sudden catastrophe, yet something about it felt familiar. As I looked around, something brushed against my feet. I looked down to see the Book of Mallorca, all charred and destroyed. As soon as I picked it up I felt a wave of sorrow and regret, a symbol of my failures to stop this.
"What...what could've done this?" I said, wondering what happened.
"Not what, boy," a voice called from the distance, "who."
I looked around, and through the smoke I saw a hooded figure, one about Smurf size. I drew out my hilt and extended it into a sword, prepared to fight. The others prepared themselves as well, grabbing any weapon they could.
"Well, you've certainly grown stronger since I last saw you," the hooded one spoke, "Nicholas Stayne, was it?"
"Who are you?" I asked, my sword glowing in the smoke billows.
"You know who I am," the man said taking off his hood and cloak.
The others stood there, gasping at the sight. I couldn't believe it, it was him. The man who had turned me into a Smurf.
"Ignotus Cadaverous?" I said shocked.
"In the flesh, boy," Ignotus replied, examining my physique.
"Interesting," he noted, "and impressive, even the old fool would be proud."
"How are you here?" I asked, confused, "Mallorca banished you!"
"I escaped this realm easily, escaping the one he banished me to was child's play."
"What have you done to other Smurfs?"
"Oh don't worry, they're all safe and captive, and I will let them go...after I have drained their power."
I looked at him determined, remembering what he did to me.
"I won't let you hurt them!" I yelled, leaping into the air to deliver an air strike.
Suddenly, the blade stopped. I looked down, seeing his sword, it was another Hilt of Hekkador, but his blade was purple, matching its dark wielder.
"You're strong," Ignotus said coldly, "but that won't save you this time."
