Despite having been part of the Red Tribe for a couple days, Y/N had never seen Dabi. It seemed as if nobody had any idea where he went, but apparently him running off was a common occurrence. Everyone assured her that he would be back before long.

She would often spend the night in the Alpha den, just as she did in the moonlit tribe, since she was family of the Alpha- or soon-to-be family-, and she had met Dabi's family. Or most of them at least.

There was Natsuo, the youngest of those who were currently known to be alive, who was a snow-pelt just like his mother Rei, and in training to become a Zeta, which were like the healers and general caretakers of the tribe.

Fuyumi was moreso a snow-pelt, but she had a bit of orange markings on her fur, but only in small patches here and there. She was a Zeta, but one who mostly focused on taking care of pups, opposed to one like Natsuo, who was focusing on the healing aspect.

Rei was the snow-pelted Alpha Female, and she mostly joined in on hunt packs in her free time, which she had a lot of due to her youngest son having run away at a fairly young age. Most of her free time was spent mourning her son, who she wasn't even sure was still alive, and Y/N found herself spending at least a bit of time staying in the den to comfort her each day.

Endeavor was intimidating, just as Lightning had said, but he cared for his family and Tribe, also like Lightning said. When Y/N had first come to the Tribe, he was quick to let her keep her rank of Delta, instead of having to move down to Gamma until she was promoted again, and all she had to do to keep it was a quick evaluation.

The Tribe was friendly and welcoming. Some of the members of the tribe were friendlier than others, but either Endeavor or Lightning were quick to shut them down, depending on who she was with.

She hadn't been assigned a trainee since all of them had been assigned mentors, but she was fine with that. Being without an underling meant she had more free time.

Quite a bit of her free time went into learning the territory, and Lightning was always kind enough to let her join on his patrols, and she quickly learned that Peltless had indeed seemed to have taken interest in the Red Tribe.

As she hunted one day, she noticed a small pack of Peltless watching, all with their own devices, and one of their birds in the sky. Once she had helped take down a couple of elk, she turned to the Peltless, watching them for a moment.

"They sure are getting quite confident, aren't they?" she inquired. A she-wolf next to her snorted.

"I'll say. They better leave soon, though. They're starting to scare off the prey."

A couple others in the hunt pack seemed to take notice of the Peltless, and the creatures began to back off under their stares.

"I've never actually seen one," Y/N said. "They're strange looking creatures."

"Yeah. Insane, too," one of the other Gammas added. "They have to put on pelts in order to come out into the snow. It's crazy to think they'd go through all the trouble."

Y/N's ears flicked in curiosity, and she told the Gammas to begin taking their catch to the den area. She walked over to the Peltless, who all froze when she came near.

She sniffed curiously, walking up to one of the females and sniffing at her covered front paws. The female creature lifted her paw, letting out soft and shaky yaps directed towards her, and Y/N flinched when the paw came down on top of her head.

She pinned her ears back defensively, and the Peltless took a couple steps back, raising its front paws, in what seemed to be some act of submission to the Peltless.

Strange creatures, indeed, she thought to herself.

One of the creatures stepped up close to her, lowering its device, which she sniffed at. The Peltless all cooed at her, and she tilted her head, wondering what they were getting so excited over.

They're like overgrown, hairless pups, she took note of. Curious about everything, and excited about anything that moves...

She turned around, intending to go meet up with the hunt pack, and one of the Peltless yipped at her, seemingly as a farewell. She turned to look at the male Peltless. He yipped again, and she barked back a farewell, making the pack all excited once more.

Y/N reunited with the hunt pack, all of which started asking questions.

"Did they attack you?!"

"What happened?"

"Why would you do that?! You could have died!"

"What were they like?"

"Did you get to see their devices?"

"How did they smell?"

"Honestly, they just seemed really curious," she said. "They don't seem like they could do much harm. Their teeth aren't even that sharp... And with their pelts on they can't use their claws."

"Well, it's probably better if you're cautious while interacting with them anyways," Slant warned her. "From what I heard, they can turn aggressive in an instant, and they don't use their teeth or claws. Supposedly, they aren't strong enough for combat."

Y/N nodded. "I definitely will. Perhaps they kick like elk do? Or they try to trample you like bison?"

Rock scoffed. "Unlikely. The rumors I was told was that they used some shiny device that kills at a long range. Cowards won't even get up close to fight."

"Those are rumors, Rock," Slant sighed. "I've never heard of any type of fighting or hunting tactics that work at long range."
