When Y/N woke up, she immediately went to stretch, but paused when she felt Dabi's paw draped over her.

That's right, they had curled up together, to warm each other up without the insulation of a proper den. That, and Dabi didn't want anyone in the pack of rogues doing anything to her.

Carefully, Y/N stood up, letting Dabi's paw fall to the ground. He grunted once she did so, immediately missing her warmth. She shook her pelt out, annoyed that Dabi had chosen to sleep outside of cover when it snowed that night.

She walked out of the den area that they had made, and her ears began shifting, trying to find something to eat. It wasn't long before she caught the scent of something, and began heading over to it.

She caught sight of a young doe, and she knew that it wouldn't be able to defend itself very well, even against her alone. She felt bad for killing such a young deer, but she knew it had to be done.

She lunged at the doe, grabbing at its leg, leaving it with an injury. She yelped in pain when it kicked her face, but it wasn't too terrible of a pain that she would be put out of commission.

She glanced over to where the deer had run off to, but she was surprised to see that it was dead. It was then that she noticed Toga beside her, sniffing at her injury.

"You good?" Toga asked. Y/N nodded, licking at her paw before using that to clean some of the blood off of her face.

"Yeah, let's just get this back to the others," she said, standing up. She walked over to the deer and grabbed it by a leg, noticing that the deer had died by blood loss rather than a broken neck like usual.

"You know you're supposed to snap its neck, right?" Y/N asked. "It dries out if it bleeds too much, and if it bleeds on the way to the others you'll lead other predators to your den area."

"Oh..." was all Toga said. The sand-pelt walked off before returning with two rabbits held by their ears. Y/N took one, and grabbed both the ear and a leg of the doe before beginning to take it back to the rogue pack, with Toga doing the same.

"I usually just go for rabbits. They're easier to get by myself, and usually we only need three or four. Everyone'll like the extra food," Toga told her. The sound of shuffling caught her attention, and Y/N looked over to where the disturbance was coming from.

"What are they doing here?" Toga asked, stiffening from beside Y/N. She saw a couple Peltless.

It wasn't the pack of Peltless that had been nice to her. The Alpha was holding some sort of strange device, and the Pups that were following kept yapping at him, despite his continuous attempts to quiet them.

"Take that back to your pack," she ordered Toga. "I'm gonna go see what they're up to."

She followed them from a distance, making sure they didn't notice her. She stalked them for what felt like hours, and the Alpha crouched down, holding his device. Her ears positioned forwards, she tried to make sense of their hushed yipping.

A loud, booming noise rang out, and Y/N yelped as it had hurt her ears. After a minute of trying to soothe her now sore ears, she looked back to the Peltless, watching as they dragged a buck from the treeline, the Alpha's Pups barking excitedly.

One of them stiffed and pointed to her, whimpering about her, while the other Pup ran towards her. Her body tensed as she prepared to run, but she didn't need to, as the Alpha barked angrily at his son. The Pup looked guilty, and he sulked back to the Alpha, who began to scold him.

Suddenly, a series of angered barks broke out, and Y/N looked over to see a larger group of Peltless heading her way, all holding the strange weapons that the Alpha of the other pack held, and upon seeing her a couple of them pointed their weapons at her.

Before they could get the chance to use them on her, Y/N bolted off, listening to the Peltless yapping at each other behind her. They obviously weren't from the same pack, and she was worried about what would happen to them. She didn't get to worry for long, as the sounds died down and she carefully made her way over to check on them again.

The two packs had seemed to settle their argument, and although they didn't seem to be at ease around each other, they weren't fighting anymore. She glanced between them.

She could just about smell the ill-intent on the larger pack of Peltless, and she didn't like it one bit.

She liked it even worse once she realized where they were headed.

I have to tell Dabi...
