Chapter 11- Party? I’m in!

James POV

“Guys! I just received a message saying that there will be a party in Riley’s house tomorrow!” I said while holding my phone.

“A party! I’m in! Are you girls in?” Joel exclaimed.

“I’m in!” Jess and Lexi said in unison.

“What time does it start at?” Jess asked.

“Um… 6:00 in evening tillI don't know when.” I said while reading off my phone.

“Great!” Lexi said while munching on a piece of sausage.

Jess POV

“Hey Lexi, since it’s Saturday today, you wanna go shopping?” I asked while putting down my fork.

“B-but... I’m broke…” Lexi said quietly.

“It’s ok, I’ll pay for you!”

“N-no… It’s ok I won’t go shopping…”

“It’s ok, you can pay me back later, alright?” I said, trying to cheer her up.

“Okay.” Lexi said with a sweet smile on her pretty face.

Joel POV

Sometimes, I kind of feel bad for Lexi because of her family background. Everytime I see her, she is either her crying, or thinking of her abusive father. I really wanted to take action but I don’t know how. I wanted to ask mum, dad and Jess whether Lexi can live with us, so she wouldn’t have to get abused by her father everyday. I really think I should ask them about this.

After breakfast

Lexi POV

I was super excited that there is a party tomorrow because I have never been into a high school party! I just hope I don’t get drunk and start acting idiotic because that will really blow my chances with Joel. But the bad news is that I’m gonna see Riley again. I went up to the bedroom and gather all the stuff I need.

“Lexi, if you’re ready, we can leave now!” Jess yelled from downstairs.

“OK!” I shouted back.

I looked at myself in the mirror, I actually think that I’m quite good looking, not that I’m self-obsessed but yea... I always think that confident girls are always the prettiest! I walked out the bedroom and walked downstairs, seeing that Jess, Joel and James are sitting on the couch chatting, I think they’re waiting for me. I quickly walk towards them and told them that I’m ready to go.

“So James and Joel are coming with us?” I asked.

“Yep! They are!” Jess said while popping the ‘P’ sound out loud.

“Great.” I said.

4 of us walked out the house, I can see the beautiful sunshine shining at us, just like this morning. It’s gonna be a good day today, I thought to myself, relieved.

“Here Lexi.” Joel said while pulling the car door for me.

“Ooooo…” Jess teased.

I looked at Jess with a dude-stop-teasing-me-look, she stopped.

“Thanks!” I said politely.

“No problem!” Joel smirked.

“Guys guys guys… Stop flirting, Jess and I can’t stand it anymore.” James said straight away.
