I wished for someone to greet me hello
The words they whisper
I wished that I can just let it go
To be free of the many sources I haveI don't want to be judge
Like I'm a court system.
But why am I holding onto a grudge?
When all I want is for you to understand.
Your hands are soft and wide when you touch me
The tinkles I feel when you turn my page
But how else am I going to get you to see?
I don't want to be judged!
Look at me!
I am a mess.
Don't judge what you see!
So, what if my cover is too plain?
Just allow me to be free
Of the harshness of your words
Do have an effect on me.
Did I do something wrong?
So, what if I am just a book?
I have feeling too.
So, take a look
Inside, if you dare
I have more than just a cover
In fact, I have many chapters for you to see.
Who knows what you might discover?
Probably the realness that's inside.
So, let me teach you a little lesson
Books have feelings too.
So show us some affection.
Don't judge our cover.
Look at us.
Admire, even
But don't bring a fuss.
It's rather irritating.
I have feelings too
For I'm just book,
Just like you.
What are you hiding inside?
