Terrence

I groaned as I did my last set, my muscles straining before I set the weights down. I panted, taking my towel to dry my sweat coated face. I could feel eyes burning into the side of my face.

"I told you no." He stomped his feet all over.

"But, bro!" He whined and pulled at his face. "I already set the date, you can't do this."

"I can, I was not part of this, don't try and make me a part of it." I stood to stretch again.

"But bro!" He stood in front of me and widened his brown eyes, I gave him a scowl and put my hand on his face, pushing him away. "Do me this favour, please? Just this once?"

"I told you once, now I have to tell you again, I'm not ready to see other people." I rolled my eyes.

"It's not even about that, okay? You have no obligations whatsoever to like this person, just be there."

"I don't see what the point would be. I would be ruining a perfectly good Friday."

"But bro!"

"Say that one more time," I glared and he raised his hands over his head.

"Okay, okay!" I walked around him towards the treadmil. "Look, I really like this guy, okay? But we met at a club, I can't just go on a one on one first date with him."

"Why not?" I began a slow jog.

"We met at a club." He deadpan, his eyes boring into my skull and groaned. "Forget it, you aren't a sociable human. You don't understand."

I sent him a frown and shook my head.

"Just, please, man. I'll owe you one." I sighed roling my eyes at him and he clapped his hands, wailing a loud, "yes!" As I inserted my earphones in and began listening to music and focusing on my work out.

When I finished everything for the day, my best friend, Keegan beside me, groaning and complaining about working out with me, we drove to our shared apartment and I continued to drown out his rambling on about the date we would have in just a few hours. He groaned on and on about how amazing his designated date was even though he met him drunk and could have made a wrong interpretation of the guy.

When we got to our complex I bolted for the door to which he huffed. I quickly made my way to my room and locked the door before I started getting ready.

While I loathed the idea of being on a date in a few hours, I vowed to make Keegan cry and protest what I'd later force him to do now that he would owe me, it brought a smile to my face to imagine this.

I dressed semi formal, my dress shirt was a soft pink and my green eyes sparkled nonetheless, I put on after shave. Admiring myself, all 6'7 and well built, buzzcut and nose piercing, I grinned and showed off my dimple to myself through the light short short beard, I put on a silver chain then and left the confines of my room.

"Well, for someone not interested in dating yet, you put in quite the effort." I pushed him to the side and got to the fridge, grabbing water.

"So, where are we meeting them?" He grinned and soon we were in the car and he was driving.

"I knew you'd do it."
