i do not vibe w/ this chapter name but i literally couldn't think of anything better ... how sad

FRIDAY EVENING. It was only about seven, but I was in bed and under the covers. Work seemed to last years today and all I wanted to do was rest. Jenna, Danny, and Howie would be over by noon tomorrow, so I wanted as much time to myself as possible before giving all of my energy out.

Work had been sort of bittersweet, too. It was the last full day of having the boys there and I already missed them, even though I would be seeing them on Monday. I knew the office would become very boring without them.

I had just started watching a YouTube video of the beauty variety when my laptop and my phone notified me that someone was trying to FaceTime. My eyebrows furrowed and when I saw it was Luke, I began to panic.

I looked a mess and didn't want to seem crazy for being curled up in bed so early. I tried to think up a plan as my phone continued to ring, but soon enough I said screw it and answered it from bed.

As the call connected us, I smiled as I saw Luke in bed, too. He was in a hoodie and looked comfy, which made him look even cuter than he normally was—which was nearly impossible.

"Hi, Luke," I answered.

"Hey! You're in bed, too. That's funny," Luke observed and genuinely laughed. "I was sort of expecting you to be doing something very important."

"Like what?" I asked him through a laugh as I tried to think of anything I would be doing that was very important.

"I don't know," Luke told me with a smile on his face. "I just didn't expect to see you partied out so early."

"Work drained me," I told him with a shrug. "What's up?" I asked, wanting to know what had prompted him to call.

"I'm honestly just bored... and wanted to see what you were up to," Luke told me. He rolled over onto his stomach and held his phone out. "I was sort of hoping to ask you over, but I figured you might not want to."

"What would be on the agenda?" I asked Luke, wanting him to tempt me.

"Well... considering we're both a little tired, it seems, probably just a chill hang. Possibly a little cuddling action, if you're into that as friends." I let out a quiet laugh at Luke's statement and he smiled. "I could make us a late dinner if you haven't eaten. You could spend the night again if you wanted? Just quiet time for us both... but together," he said, which sounded like a dream come true.
