"You're actually upset right now? Look at everything the world has given you, Luke."
"And that's great, but I'd rather have you."

SATURDAY MORNING. "Josie," I hummed in response to hearing my name and smiled at the sound of a quiet laugh. A pair of strong arms snaked around me and I remembered that I was at Luke's place. "We sort of slept in," Luke told me which instantly caused my eyes to fly open.
"What time is it?" I asked, my voice sounding hoarse and sleepy.
"It's nearly ten," Luke said and I groaned quietly as I turned around in his arms. "Do you have somewhere to be?"
"I have to be back at my place by noon," I told him before cuddling into his chest and closing my eyes.
"Are you going back to sleep?" Luke asked me through a chuckle. I nodded and Luke squeezed me for a second before starting to pull away. "We need to get up, sleepyhead. C'mon, I'll make pancakes."
"Luke," I whined as I grabbed his arm. "Just five more minutes."
"Oh my goodness, you're clingy this morning," Luke joked with me as he placed himself back in the same position and held me again. "I'm going to talk to you so that you can't fall asleep."
"Why do you hate me?" I pouted while my eyes were still shut.
"I don't hate you, dummy," Luke said as he started to swipe my hair out of my face. "Why are you so tired? I've never seen you want to go back to bed."
"We stayed up until two in the morning, Luke. I don't function well without my beauty rest," I told him which sent him into laughter for the umpteenth time.
"I tried to get you to go to bed before then," Luke commented which caused the corners of my lips to curl. "I knew you'd be little miss grumpy... I felt it in my bones."
"You're dramatic," I told Luke which caused him to gasp.
"You're mean," he said which caused me to quietly laugh. "But very cute, I must say." I looked up at Luke and he smiled as he made eye contact with me.
"Don't you sweet talk me into getting out of this bed." Luke threw his head back from laughter and I smiled at the sound. "I guess I could get up to watch you make me breakfast."
"C'mon, Josie-Wosie," Luke said, raising the pitch of his voice as if he were talking to a small child. I sent him a genuine glare and saw a rush of fear course through his eyes. "I'll never do it again, I promise." I found myself laughing at Luke's sincere words and started to roll out of bed. "Last one there's a rotten egg!" Luke shouted before zooming out of the bedroom. I rolled my eyes playfully as I took my precious time exiting the bedroom and walking down the hall to the kitchen. "Extra rotten," Luke said as I finally walked in.
