FRIDAY EVENING. "Have a nice weekend, Jo!" As I was leaving the office, I turned my head to see Stevie to my left.

"You too, Stevie!" I told him with a smile as I waved my hand at him. "Get some sleep, would you?"

"I'll do what I want," Stevie joked just before promising that he'd catch up on sleep. He had told Emma and myself about how he had been puppy sitting for his older sister and that it had taken a toll on him the last couple of days. "The pup leaves at eight tonight, so I'll be knocking out promptly at eight-thirty."

"That sounds like a good plan," I told him through a quiet laugh. "See ya, Stevie."

"Bye, Jo." Stevie waved a final time, a smile shining on his face, before I walked out of the doors to the building. I made my way to my car and unlocked the doors just before reaching for the handle. After getting in and getting situated, I pulled out of the parking lot and began driving toward Luke's place. I would normally go home first, but I felt too excited about seeing him. We were planning our last week together, and I wanted to spend as much time with him as humanly possible.

The drive took about twenty minutes, mainly because of bad traffic, but that didn't stop me from having a smile on my face as I got out of my car. After locking my car, I started toward Luke's apartment building doors before seeing two people walking out together from about twenty feet away.

My smile slowly disappeared as I realized that Luke was holding the door open, his arm above his head as he leaned against the door frame. He was talking to a girl that he seemed to be walking out. My heart began to pound, but I didn't dare stop making my way over to him.

"It was really great to see you," Luke told the girl as I walked up slowly. "I'll make sure to call you once I'm back in town."

"Don't you forget about me," the girl joked with Luke as she walked backward. "I can't wait to hear all about the tour! Let the boys know I'm rooting for them every step of the way."

"Will do," Luke said with a wide smile on his face. "Bye, Ceely."

"Bye, Luke."

My heart was nearly pounding out of my chest when I came to be about five feet from Luke and he suddenly noticed me.

"Josie!" Luke said excitedly before stepping toward me and wrapping his arms around me. "I didn't think I'd see you for another hour."
