Bella Comes Back

A few days later, I was at Emily and Sam's. Getting ready to go to dinner with Dad, before Sam stops me.

"Alex," his stong voice sounds from the porch.

"Yeah Sam?" I ask.

"I need you to do something for the pack," he says.

"Sure, what is it?" I ask.

"Since you're an exception to the treaty since you live in Forks, I need you to talk to the Cullen's about the other night. I want you to warn them about coming on our land again. Jake will come with you tomorrow," he says.

"I can do that," I say, "See you tomorrow guys!"

A chorus of 'byes, see ya's, and laters' sound from the front door before I get in my car and drive home.

After dinner with Dad and Bella, I head upstairs and go to bed. I need to go to school early, so I'll be there before Bella and Edward.

When my alarm clock goes off, I quickly jump out of bed and get ready. I text a reminder to Jake to wake him up. I throw on a pair of jeans, a tee-shirt, one of Quil's old sweatshirts, and my old beat-up black Vans.

I grab some breakfast quickly, and leave a note on the fridge for Dad. I text Brit and Mak, telling them that I had to leave early and wouldn't be able to give them a ride. Then jump in my car and drive to the school.

I park my car and walk over to where Jake was standing next to his bike.

"Hey you," he says before wrapping me in a hug.

"Hey," I mumble into his chest.

"So what am I here so early for?" he asks.

"Didn't Sam tell you?" he shakes his head, "It's about the other night. When Emmett came across the border."

His face shows understanding as a flood of people rush past us to get into the school.

"Hey," Bella says when her and Edward walk up to us.

"Charlie said you left town," Jake says while I hang back a bit.

"Yeah, to visit my mom why?' she asks.

"He's checking to see if you're still human," Edward says while snickerning. Jake starts fuming.

I grab his arm, pull him back and say, "Calm down hot head. You're worse than Paul! Look Edward,we're here to warn you. If your kind come on our land again."

"Wait what?" Bella asks.

"You didn't tell her?" Jake asks.

"Just leave it alone Jacob," Edward says.

"No! Sam sent us here," I say as Bella asks what we're talking about.

"Emmett had a... misunderstanding with Alex and Paul. It's nothing to worry about," Edward says.

I scoff, walk to my car and yell back, "Come get me when you're done with the B.S!"

I drive to Emily's to just skip school for the day.

 "What happened? Why aren't you at school?" Emily asks when I walk in a sit on the counter in the kitchen.

"Didn't feel like scaring a bunch of people," I say, "Think you could call the school and get me off?"

"Sure," she says before picking up the phone and dialing the school's phone number.

I hear the boys come running in from patrols for lunch screaming and yelling. Emily shushes them quickly, and they shut up.

Emily hangs up the phone and says, "You are off the hook. You now have the flu!"

"Gee thanks Em. Couldn't you have said like a bad cold or something?" I ask.

"No. It wouldn't be as believable if I said a bad cold!" she says before looping an arm around me in attempts of giving me a hug. I hugher back of course.

"Thanks Em!" I say as the familiar rumbling of Jake's bike gets closer.

Quil, Embry, Paul and Jared run outside to greet him. I trail behind them, knowing that Bella's with him.

"Jared you pig!" I say when I see him still eating another leg of chicken from lunch.

"You love me though!" he throws an arm around me.

"In your dreams!" I grab his arm and twist it until he whimpers a bit. Bella gives me a questioning look. I pull my sweatshirt off and show her the tattoo.

"Since when?" she asks.

"Same day as Quil. Just a few weeks ago," I tell her.

"How?" she asks. I shrug, not knowing myself.

"I'm gunna go put this away, wanna come?" Jake asks Bella, and they walk away with him pushing his bike.

"Let's take a walk," Quil says when he comes back with a shirt on.

"Okay," I say before walking off down the road with him.
