Paul: [What is this? How to fight a newborn 101?]
Leah: [Paul, shut up.]]
Sam: [Both of you! Shut up!]
After a long day of boring subsides, Sam finally lets us go home.
I phase back and put my clothes on, and walk toward Emily and Sam's for some food.
"Alex wait!" Jake yells from behind me.
"What Jacob?" I snap. That is the first time I've called him by his whole name in a long time!
"Can we talk? Please?" he pleads.
I cross my arms, shift my weight, and say, "Talk."
"I uh..." he starts.
"Let me guess. You're sorry that you denied me, and want me back? No? Well, then I don't want to hear it!" I say.
"Alex," he says in a warning voice.
"Either way Jake, she's going to end up with Edward. Just stand up and face the damned music!" I say, "Let me ask you a question. Do you still love her?"
His gaze falls anywhere except my face as tears brim my eyes.
"That's what I thought," I snap, "Go to hell Jacob Black! Don't talk to me until you've come to your senses!"
I sprint away from him with a tear stained face. I phase and knock down a few trees before someone tells me that Sam wants to talk to me.
After I phase back, I jog to Emily and Sam's.
"You wanted to talk Sam?" I ask when I walk in the door.
"Yeah, I need you to go up the mountain to keep Bella and Edward out of trouble. Seth will stay back and watch the town," he says, "Seth can meet us in the clearing after the battle."
I sigh, roll my eyes and say, "I can do that."
The boys come rolling through the doorlaughing and yelling when Jared says, "Good. I don't think you had a choice!"
"Whatever," I punch his arm.
*Four Days Later*
"See you later! Don't get hurt! Or I'll hurt you myself," I yell after the guys before I phase and sprint up the mountain.
Quil: [I don't think you will!]
Me: [You thought the same thing with the rocks and look how that turned out!]
Quil: [You almost took my head off!]
Me: [You underestimate me too much Quil!]
Sam: [Both of you! Focus!]
Everyone else sinickers, and I can see Bella and Edward talking. Jake is checking the woods before he goes down.
"Jacob! Kiss me," Bella yells to him. He takes three easy steps toward her. I growl lowly.
Sam: [Alex! No!]
Me: [Seth! Get up here! I'll watch the town!]
Sam: [No! Both of you, stay where you are! Alex you are staying up there!]
I growl at Sam. Edward reading my mind, and a concerned look creeps onto his face.
Me: [Stay out of my head leech!]
He reads my thoughts once again, only to recollect that the battle is starting.
I watch as Sam and the rest of the pack start killing newborns.
Seth: [Sam, they're not coming into the town. That's not what they want.]
Sam thinks for a second.
Sam: [Then get up the mountain. Alex, when Seth gets there, come down and help.]
Seth sprints up the mountain, and when he gets there, I run down and join the fight.
All of us finish them off quite easily. Edward comes back down the mountain with Bella, and Seth with them.
"The pack needs to leave. The Voltouri won't honor a truce with the werewolves," Carlisle says.
Leah stands off to the side by a boulder. Jake trots out from the tree line.
One lone newborn comes out from behind the rocks, and Leah attacks him. It gets its arm around her neck, but Jake tears it off of her. It wraps it arms around his middle, and crushes him.
Me: [JACOB!!!!]
I sprint toward the newborn with full force and tackle it to the ground. I growl loudly in its face, then tear its head off. I run into the tree line, and phase back. I sprint, then slide on my knees to him.
"Alex?" he breaths.
"Jake, I'm right here," I say.
"We'll take him back to Billy's," Sam's voice sounds behind me. I feel Leah pull me away from Jake, so they can pick him up.
"He'll be okay," Bella says as she hugs me.
"I hope so," I mumble before following Leah to the Rez.
