I pull into the driveway to see that no one is home. I rip the keys out I the ignition and slam the door as I go inside. I'm more pissed than sad.
I run upstairs, drop my keys on my desk and flop on my bed and just cry. I cry for a million different reasons, but the main one is Jake.
A few hours later, a knock on my door sounds.
"Come in," I sniffle.
"Hey," Mak peeks in, "Where'd you- what happened?!" She practically almost jumps on me.
I tell her exactly why I'm crying, and she says, "I'm gunna kill him!"
"But for now, can we just watch a movie or something?" I ask.
"Sure, I'll go get the ice cream," she says before walking out. I get up and go to my shelves of movies. I pick out The Notebook, because I still feel like crying.
When the movie is over, we had eaten the whole tub of ice cream. Neither of our houses had any, so she ran to the store and got a brand new one, and it's gone!
"So, what do you wanna do now?" Mak asks.
"Can you call Quil for me? I wanna talk to him," I ask.
She nods and grabs my phone from my hand.
When she hangs up, she says, "He'll be here in like ten minutes."
"Thanks," I say. We just lay in my bed silently until we hear a car pull up.
Quil's heavy footsteps sound as he runs up the stairs.
"And that is my cue to leave, see ya later beautiful!" she says.
"Later gorgeous!" I reply as Quil walks in and Mak walks out.
"Hey, what happened? Makenlee said it was a code red," he says.
"I'll tell you in a bit, but let's go outside. It's nice out," I say before grabbing my phone and walking downstairs.
Quil follows me outside, and we lay down on the grass in the backyard with my head on his lap.
"So you gunna tell me what's wrong?" he asks.
"Well, after you went inside, I followed Jake and went to talk to him," I explain, "I asked him why he wouldn't talk to me, and he spouted about how he couldn't tell me. Then we started arguing, and he eventually called me an attention seeking bitch."
Quil stands up and starts pacing and trembling.
"Quil?" he doesn't answer.
"Quil. Quil! Stop!" still no answer.
I stand up and grab his arm.
"I don't want to be one of them," he growls.
"Who? Jake? Embry? Sam?" I ask. He nods quickly. "You don't have to. Just calm down and everything will be fine."
"No, it won't be fine," he says.
"Yes it will Quil," I say, "You're going to fine an you're not going to be one of them!"
"Alex, back away," I hear Sam Uley's voice from behind me.
"Why?" I whip around to see every single person who stopped talking to me. Embry, Paul, Seth, Jared Leah, and... Jake.
"Just back away from him," Jake says.
"Why should I listen to you Jake? Huh? You gunna call me an attention seeking bitch again because I won't move?" I start getting angry. I start... shaking?
