"He likes me?"

My eyes widened and I almost drop my phone. We are currently celebrating Christmas night as well as Abrielle's 17th birthday. We were in the middle of getting ready to go home since the party is over when Isla suddenly blurted out that one of her guy friend likes me.

"Remember Zev?"

Zev.. How can I forget about Zev. He was Isla's ex boyfriend and also the guy whom she said impregnated her during her April fool's prank which was the prank I cried the most.

"Mnemosyne your charm is really amazing, I just want to pull your hair out of your pretty little head"

I chuckled at Abrielle's remark. Ever since entering college, guys would swarm around me like flies. No I'm not joking and I am definitely not exaggerating. I joined an ROTC class and has been around mostly guys ever since entrance ceremony. Some of them became my friends but most of them made a move on me.

"Yeah I really wanna punch you back then, he even bought you a life size bear during graduation"
I turned to Isla.

"I never received one though"

"That's because I burned them up"
And once again, my dear friend shocked the hell out of me.

"WHY!??"

"What do you mean why?"

"I mean it was a LIFE SIZE STUFFED BEAR. You know how much I f*cking want one"

"Then I'll buy you one stop being a baby"

And that was how Isla owned me a life sized stuff bear. After a while, we decided to go home and while on the way I can't stop thinking about Zev.

Don't get me wrong I never met the guy. Not even once, I only knew him through stories and those stories were still insufficient upon a human's comprehensive abilities. I meant to say they were lacking, just thought saying it would be cool.

I looked at Isla who was walking beside me.

"This is the reason why I don't want to tell you. How many questions do you have now?"

"Five.."

"I'll answer two"

"Since when?"

"At the end of our third year in high school, the next one? Hurry up I don't have all day"

"Okay chill, why me?"

Isla turned to look at me before letting out a deep sigh.

"It was my fault, I told him too many stories about you"

"Stories like what?"

"Like how you use to help us during math class and how intelligent you were. You know how they're attracted to conservative and brainy gals"

It took me a moment to register everything she said but after a while, I laughed and threw my arm around Isla's small shoulders.

"Then it was just an attraction"

"Huh? How did you even know?"

"No one likes someone just through stories silly, It's not possible"

Isla shrugged off my comment and we continued walking down the alley which leads us straight home.
