Andrea
It's been two weeks. Two weeks since I've joined the Royal Guard. The two fastest weeks of my life. It felt like everything flew by and now I only have a week left before we are officially inaugurated into the Royal Guard. And I was more than ready for this. I've trained as hard as I can and throughout this past couple of weeks (thanks to Sedrick) I was able to become healthy again.
Training had becomes easier the further we go into it. What once was the most difficult obstacle course to us, became something fun that we would do on our own to race each other. We would even run together just for fun.
Max and Ramirez became my closest friends. We we hang out and stay in groups when we had to do any activities. We would eat together and chill when there wasn't anything we had to do. We once even slept outside together with a couple others.
And of course Keith and I barely talked. He's been focusing more on his King duties and comes and trains with us every once in awhile. But most of the time he pretends I'm not there. I guess it's better that way.
Phillip and I haven't made anything official yet but we've gone out almost every day. I feel like I know almost everything about him now. He's really serious about his job and what's nothing more than to go down in history as one of the greats just like his Father. And I have no doubt in my mind that he will. He's very focused and knows how to work with others.
"Alright. One at a time, one at a time." Sedrick says. At the moment, we were all crowded around a gigantic pool with packs on our backs at four in the morning. We had gone to bed at twelve the night before so most of us were half awake. I on the other hand, was slowly falling asleep as I was standing up. It was a little chilly and the wind was more than powerful.
"What I want you to do is jump in with your packs and swim. And if you can't swim perfectly you can use the pack as a flotation device." Phillip says. I never really learned how to swim in water this deep but in the Winter Mountains, I've fallen through ice and had to break my way out multiple times. But never with pack on my back.
"Alright ladies, who wants to go first?" Sedrick asks. I raise my hand along with Keneti and two other dudes. Keneti and I both glare at each other. Lately, it's been like a competition between us. All Keneti wants is to get the attention of everyone else and be at the top like Sedrick and Phillip are. But he tries too hard and always makes everything a competition. It's always who can eat the healthiest, who can run the fastest, who can finish first between him. I'm just trying to get this whole thing over with.
"Alright. Keneti, Johnson, Smith, and Simmons, you all can go first." Sedrick points to the pool.
"Just jump in?" I ask.
"Jump right on in." Sedrick nods. I nod and move closer to the pool. As I was getting ready to jump in a hand comes across my chest pushing me back a little. I stumble back into a few other people as Keneti goes head first into the water. I watch as he struggles. My eyes widen. "Is he okay?"
"He's fine." Phillip mumbles. I meet the face of the man beside me. He looked almost angered. I could tell he was just letting this happen because Keneti tried to prove that he was better than everyone.
"He needs help he's drowning!" I say to Sedrick who ignored me. He turns to the large group. "This is what happens when you try to- how do you say? Show out..." he explains. I began to take off my pack and throw my things on the ground. Phillip grabs. My arm. "Hey. What the hell are you doing?"
"Move." I bark at him. I take off my hat and shoes along with my socks and dive into the water. It was cold and hit me leaving me in shock. I open my eyes looking around for Keneti. He was nowhere to be found. The pool was too big and the water was too deep. I could barely see through anything.
