Chapter 4

Konoha walked towards Washio as he was talking to Kaori about something. Konoha pulled him aside and whispered "bro, somethings up with our captains"
"Well, Bokuto isn't saying anything, is this a long term emo mode?" Kaori butted in, she had sharp ears the boys wernt surprised that she heard them.
"Did something happen?" Washio asked.

"Hey set for me"
"Whatever"

The whole gymnasium went quiet.
Everyone had chills.

"They're so cold to eachother!! Akaashi just shut him off?"

"Yeah but he still listening to his requests"

"Konoha, let's set them up."

practice ended and the boys went up to their club room to change.

"Hey Akaashi!"
"Hello, Konoha-san."
"Sayyyy, me and Washio are going to a club over the weekend to meet some girls. Want to join?"

Akaashi didn't want to say no to them but he couldn't tell them that he wasn't attracted to females right?

"Sure" He said giving off a fake smile.
Bokuto leaped onto Washio and asked if he could come too. Of course he said yes.

Akaashi came with Konoha to the site where they were meeting with the rest of the boys. The raven haired boy didn't expect to see Bokuto there, and when he did he turned to Konoha on a site of almost throwing up. Konoha had told Washio and Bokuto to go inside and they would catch up with them in a few minutes and so that was the plan.

"Did you go to the doctors?" Konoha asked while rubbing Akaashi's back as comfort.
"Yeah, they said I only have a one symptom of Star Tears right now which is crying out the crystallised star tears.."
Akaashi started crying and throwing up again. It was painful, each time he coughed it felt like a knife going through his skin.

The door of the bathroom was suddenly opened. Both boys looked at eachother in shock hoping it was someone they didn't know.
"Hey Akaashi, Konoha??"
but the voice wasn't Bokuto's.
Konoha got out the stall and faced Washio.
"Bruh the heck you doing in the same stall-"
"Shut up!" Konoha replied, he sighed before proceeding with telling Washio about the issue Akaashi had.
Luckily Washio knew stuff about it.
"Akaashi my mum had this!!"
"R-really?"
"Yeah, I'm sure you're the same. Whenever the partner is around think of them as a pineapple-"
His head was smacked by Konoha and he was giving a death glare.
"W-what I mean is, take it to consideration. Act like you guys are normal."
"That's hard to do, I'll try"
"Great! If you don't mind me asking, who is it? Whose the lucky girl?"
Akaashi coughed again at the thought of his crush. He looked at Konoha and he nodded in return.
"Washio-kun.. it's Bokuto."
"Eh!?"

The 3 boys came out and saw Bokuto already sitting with the girls. All the girls present were swooning over Bokuto and he was clearly drunk. Akaashi's heart developed a new type of pain and he didn't want to see the sight of it. But he did want to see Bokuto... it was a silly choice but he couldn't deny it forever. He looked up and instead of Bokuto, one of the girls were sitting in front of them. Her dress.. it was red but to Akaashi it was colourless.
Akaashi began to shake and he couldn't take his eyes of the girls dress. People beside started whispering and the setter's mind raced. Fuck people are staring at me oh my god what should I do? Why am I shaking? It must be a mind trick right? It's okay it's okay it's okay!! "Akaashi?" Keiji you shouldn't have agreed to come. What were you thinking? You will never be happy! "AKAASHI KEIJI"
Akaashi woke up, he had happened to pass out and Washio,Konoha and Bokuto brought him to the nearest hospital for checks. Luckily it wasn't major but again, it was the result of the star tears. His mother was beside him and started stroking his hair. "I wondered why you were late, don't try to remove yourself Keiji.. I know you're hurting but forgetting who you are and who you like won't help you.."
"Mom..." A sobbing raven setter boy said, gripping onto the hospital sheets. He thought his mum had left him ever since his father left and hasn't come back.
"Mom I'm scared.. I'm so scared!"
"Shush.. it's okay."
The doctor came in gave Mrs Akaashi a prescription for medicine. She left the room to go to the pharmacy to collect it while the doctor stayed in the room with Keiji.
"Hey apart from your two school friends and parents have you told the school nurse?"
"Not as of yet.."
Doctor recommended him to do so before anything else.
"You should talk to the person you like. If you don't mind me asking, how close are you two?"
Akaashi flinched but then took a deep breathe.
"We're best friends, but he's a year older than me so we don't see eachother around school much. Except from breaks and lunch..oh! He's captain of the volleyball team and I'm Vice captain, alongside of Setter and Spiker duo so we...have a lot of interaction."
"I see.. it must be hard for you. Go back to school and see how you cope"
"I'm back with the medicine!" His mom came back.

Akaashi went back to school the next day. He began taking his medicine pills every morning and he took a packet to school just in case. He didn't go to morning volleyball practice today but instead he went to the nurses office to tell her about the situation. She said the same thing as the doctor but she also said "I think Bokuto-kun came here last week to see if you were here, he was worried about you." Akaashi was surprised but he thought it was something only between friends.

He still couldn't see the colour red. It was hard to focus of things and his mind always blanked out during lessons. The school became wary of it within a week because the head teacher found him crying under the stairs once, he was stuffing his face with onigiri but as a head teacher he couldn't ignore a crying kid and well, Akaashi couldn't lie to the head teacher and since his emotions were so muddled him he threw everything under the bus. Luckily the head teacher understood.

Evening practice was about to start. Akaashi got to the changing rooms and took a deep breath. He heard Bokuto's voice but no one else's.
"Okay okay I understand see you later! Ugh yes l-love you too"
Akaashi paused at the door handle
Love you too? Was Bokuto dating someone?
He took the risk and walked in.
"Oh?? Agaashe!!"
"B-Bokuto-san.." He said while closing his eyes.
"Fine fine, I understand I'll leave you to change!" He said while leaving and closing the door behind him. Akaashi opened his eyes and took a deep breathe Keiji get a hold of yourself! You will get over him!
He began to get change taking his shin shields out and shorts along with his navy blue cotton shirt he uses at practices. He zipped up his duffle bag and began to walk to the door when he heard a ringing noise coming from the other side of changing rooms. He decided to ignore it because it would be rude but it kept ringing and ringing so he began to look for it. "Ugh whoever's Phone is it needs to be more responsible it's annoying!" He said while gritting his teeth and reaching for where the sound was coming from. The phone was black and white with owl like features on it. It was Bokuto's phone.
Akaashi heart shrank it was like a volleyball to the stomach type feeling. He turned it on to turn notifications off but it kept ringing, he didn't mean to read the messages but Bokuto was clumsy.
"Hana-chan?" Akaashi read, it was name of contact who was messaging Bokuto non stop.

What? Who is she? What's their relationship! Kisses? Bokuto gets kisses? Who is she?
Akaashi gripped the phone tightly, he was jealous.. very jealous. His head started to hurt again. In fact it was the same type of headache he had before puking and loosing sight of a colour. This time he lost the colour yellow. He looked around the room to see if anything yellow was there, he could see everything except red and yellow. He heard foot steps coming up the stairs towards the changing rooms. He immediately put the phone back into Bokuto's bag and fell to the ground. He was exhausted. Konoha came into the room.
"Akaashi-kun?? How long were you changing for-? Uh HEY AKAASHI?!"
Akaashi looks wearily up at Konoha and asked for water. Konoha brought some water from Akaashi's bag and he drank it whole. The rest of the team came into to room to enquire about Akaashi. Bokuto was last to come in the room. "Agasshe!?"
"Bokuto-kun, be quiet" Washio said. He nodded and kneeled down in front of him. Akaashi flinched and looked away. "Akaashi look at me... please"
The blue/green eyed boy turned his head slowly, his eyes trancing from Konoha to Washio to the rest of the team and lastly landing on Bokuto.. Bokuto's eyes were colourless.
"I—I can't see" he sobbed. Everyone drew closer to Akaashi "see what?! Akaashi are u okay?"
"I can't see his eyes.. I CANT SEE THE COLOUR YELLOW DAMN IT"
everyone went quiet, Akaashi lost another colour? Konoha thought. He whispered into Akaashi's ear "tell him the truth.. you've bottled yourself for almost 3 months..please Akaashi-kun" hesitating at first he finally nodded, Konoha signaled the team to go and they all began to leave, Bokuto got up but Akaashi pulled his arm down. "I need to talk to you.."

"I'm listening, Keiji."
