so... charli

let's just start by saying that i am pretty indifferent towards charli and the majority of tik tok famous teens as a whole. however, charli was a big topic and has taken many opportunities that most "content creators" don't get. the question is: why?

pointing out the obvious, charli got famous on tik tok for her dancing videos, the most recognizable being renegade. it was later discovered that she not only didn't create the dance, but she didn't tag the person, a young black girl, who is the original creator of the dance. renegade caused charli to become extremely famous over a very short period of time while the original creator appeared in a handful of talk shows where she stated her testimony on the situation, acted like it was okay, did her dance, and that was it.

after finding out what charli did, a lot of people decided that they didn't like her anymore, which brings me to the question: does charli deserve the hate, fame and/or hype?

starting off strong, charli most definitely does not deserve hate. nobody in this world should be at a point where they truly deserve genuine hate. i will never understand how people can go about hating someone for a particular reason or no reason at all. hate is a very strong word as well as a very strong feeling. whether it's genuine or just petty, i don't understand how someone could hate another person because of what they see instead of what they know. with that being said, i don't hate her, and i don't believe that she deserves the hate that she receives.

moving on, charli's fame/hype is kind if a mixed topic. i mean, what does she truly deserve? what has she done in her life that the internet hasn't seen that has caused her to have this level of fame? why do people love her so much that they are willing to defend anything that she does?

this world has changed from one where people spoke their minds and weren't so afraid of controversy to one where the majority rules, and that ruling class is on the same little boat that is slowly sinking. the minority can see the titanic happening, but everyone is so completely ignorant that they just act like everything is normal.

i won't go as far as to call charli a thief, but she did not give credit where it was due. it's so easy to get caught up in a dream world that when it comes to it, you forget where you come from. we've seen it in the interviews; maybe she was being shy when she said she didn't know where the idea for the dance came from. maybe she knew what she was doing. the only person that will ever know the truth is her.

in conclusion, i don't have a straightforward answer to that question, but i do have a question of my own: can you really blame charli for being famous or can you blame the titanic?

unnecessary hate is unnecessary. it's in the name.
