Tao's platform had shrunk to only a few inches long and as she took a graceful leap off the column as it was reduced to nothing. Idoka extended her hand and caught Tao before the flames were able to reach her, and as Tao's foot touched the stone platform her eyes widened in gratitude as she embraced Idoka in their very first hug. Tao pulled away and shook her head as if to remind herself of an awful truth.

"Uh, sorry that..., I, that's three times you've saved me in this wretched place and, and all I've been to you is foul, I, I'm so sorry." Tao stuttered her eyes welling up with shame filled tears, as her hands fell to her sides.

"It's fine, we, or at least I feel like I have lied to much to you and we have had such a trying relationship I, I want to-" But Idoka was cut off because Tao had flung her arms around her in a vary uncharacteristic way. After a moment Idoka gently put her arms around her slightly taller, fiercer companion. After a moment of silence Tao stepped back and her green eyes met Idoka's blue ones as she said.

"Can we start over, please!" She asked as her beautiful eyes widened again. "Please." She bagged again in a whisper of a voice.

"Yes." Idoka responded simply. She turned away from Tao letting their blossoming friendship close around her heart. They had to find a way out of this wretched box, they had to complete the next two challenges, wherever they might be, and they had to escape, as friends and so the world did not suffer these challenges. Idoka saw a small gap in the wall around her. The gap was so low, with roaring flames were surrounding it, but they seemed to all reach a wall when their fire met the impenetrable darkness. There were many pillars they had to cross before they got to the gap but Idoka turned around to see Tao sitting on the edge of the platform, her head in her hands her shoulders shaking.

Tao's pov.

Idoka had said something about lies she had been keeping and I could not help that I reflected on so many lies. My hole life was built on lies, secrecy and images. What lies was she keeping? Idoka seemed to be perfect, kind, beautiful and smart. She turned around and Idoka crouched at her eye level.

"Um Idoka what did you mean when you said you've told so many lies." I asked trying to sound uninterested, detached, and bored.

"I kind of don't want to talk about its sorry Tao." She responded, letting her blond hair fall in front of her face as she turned away from me. My spirits sank as she continued on to say; "There's a gap in the wall were I think we can escape, we might want to get going if we want to get there before the Games Master pulls another trick." She advised, as she said this, she clambered to her feet and extended a hand to me. Her hand was warm, her grip was fierce, but her skin was soft as she helped me up.

Third person pov

As the duo jumped from platform to platform a pair of wickedly sharp eyes stared at his contestants through the security cameras.

"Their getting along! They're actually getting along!" Thorium gasped incredulously.

"So, it would seem, prepare the second challenge." The games master commanded failing to hide his fury. Thorium jumped at the loud command and scuttled out of the room. A ball of flaming, burning hatred seemed to well inside of the Games Master. His hands clamped around his iron mask, nails digging into a spiraling material.

"They will not be friend's ANY longer." He yelled to his screen filled room. "Not if I have anything to say about it." He finished evilly.
