Third person Pov

"Idoka..." Tao mumbled sleepily. She reached out a clumsy hand with her eyes still firmly closed. Then like the opening of an alligator's, jaw her eyes snapped open. In seconds she was on her feet fully awake and fully aware that her partner was gone. "Idoka?!" called Tao "Idoka!" She yelled again. "Jinx, where is she?!" Tao roared fiercely, her dark hair fully coming out of the bun she had always worn.

"Why do you think I know?" he sneered sarcastically from his high vantage point.

"You run this dreadful place!" She retaliated.

"I will free her if you do as I wish." He growled.

"Anything." She replied.

"Come with me."

Suddenly the simulator was replaced by what seemed to be an indoor battlefield. There were plain wooden barriers and sniper positions to battle over. The green side had a tall tower with a prison chamber at the top. The red side had a low to the ground maze before you found the throne room. Tao got a glance at this new sight but the only thing she was looking at was Idoka, who had walked around one corner and ran towards her. But the moment they finished their embrace Tao looked sadly into Idoka's waterfall blue eyes then fell through a trap door which shut immediately, prohibiting Idoka from following her.

Tao fell through horrifying darkness, her eyes staring up, the last place she had seen Idoka. She was sure that it would be the last time she ever saw her, and Tao wanted to remember the sight of her for the rest of her life. As she hit the ground, the suffocating shadows and darkness was swept away. The rugged, exposed face of Jinx came into view. They were standing on some sort of hovering platform, with spotlights highlighting their figures.

"If your going to kill me you'd better get it over with." Tao stated passionately, lowering her head to scrutinize her brothers weathered features.

"Oh no I wouldn't dare." He teased. The platform began to rise, slowly spinning in circles. "What we're going to do is head into my battle arena and face Idoka."

"What? No! I'll never do it!"

"Oh, you misread me sis, your trying to save Idoka, me and her boyfriend will try to stop you." He explained simply. Tao recoiled at the thought of Idoka's boyfriend. She had almost forgotten about him, but now those memories came back, fresh sharp and painful. "And don't try persuading him to join you because if he sides with you, I'll kill Idoka." He laughed cruelly. He stepped backwards into the surrounding shadows and Tao was left on the rising platform, staring up, waiting for light to penetrate the gloom.

As Tao breached the light, she looked out towards the green tower were Idoka was chained to the wall, gagged, and suspended in midair. Barricading her way was her hulking brother and Idoka's sanding haired, skinny armed boyfriend. He had acquired a look of confusion and determination on his handsome features. The good looks seemed as much of a mask as the one Jinx was wearing. It hid to much of his grisly heart. His pure imperiousness had broken Tao down all her life. The one and only reason Idoka was dating him was that she had not experienced his icy wrath.

Tao's Pov

"Jinx, what weapon do I get?" I shouted lifting my chin. I had always had a thing for weapons. Ever since being on the run, I had gotten used to fighting some of the most devoted assailants in the world. I used to play fight my brother almost every day. Back then he cared for me like no one else but now the only thing he cared about was himself and revenge.

"Take any form the barrel. I'll have a rapier and Jacoby will have knives and a mace." He said his eyes probing the boy.

"I'll speak for myself, thanks." Jacoby snarled, tilting his head in annoyance. In one swift movement, Jinx had stepped towards the lunatic and asphyxiated his air supply with one titanium like grasp. They stood there for a second, Jacoby gasping for air and Jinxes pleasure and hatred shining through his mask. Comprehending my advantage, I grabbed a rapier myself and sprinted towards Idoka. She was struggling so much; the chains were starting to draw blood at her collar bone. Just as I made it past the halfway mark, two knives spun directly into my arm and hip, pinning me to the wall by my singed clothes and partly by my skin. As I glared at Jacoby sprinting towards me and I prepared my blade, still pinned to the wall, blood seeping through my clothes like ink marks on paper. Jacoby had placed both of his hands on the handle of the mace, holding it high above his head, it made him exposed in the abdomen as well as the arms, lags, and chest. I tossed my rapier to my inferior hand and gave the charging boy three slashes to the waist. He fell back, the weight of the mace over balancing him.

I forcefully wrenched the knife out of my right arm. I was so numb to pain that I only saw the deadly edge of the weapon soaked in my rose red blood. The knife at my hip took more time to carefully remove. When I was done, I let the knives clatter to the floor through limp fingers. I took a few staggering strides forwards trying not to slip in my own crimson blood as I raised my sword to perform the final stroke. I had slaughtered many people in my life, all with the selfish speculation that I had to escape, so why was this any different? As I studied the wiggling form of Jacoby my thoughts wondered to Idoka. Like it or not this was her boyfriend and if she saw me deliver the blow to end his pitiful life, she would hate me until I die, and I would hate myself. I closed my eyes, bent my knees but my heart could not do it. The blade hovered above his anguished body, my frame still as a statue.
