Louis' Pov.
Harry is set to get out the hospital later this evening and the lads and I decided it would be great to throw him a small, welcoming party for his return. I'm sure the first thing he'll want to do when he gets home is rest, but I think it's best if we keep him on his toes a bit. Well, I think it's for the best. I'm actually scared, to be quite honest; he was in a coma and I'm not exactly sure what triggers those - I'm afraid that it could happen again, at any time, while under our watch. The doctor said he's stable and he'll be given medication. You never really know how things work in life. Even with all of that being said, I am happy he's alive and well. This month has been hell without him. I've never been so emotional and felt so lost in my entire life. I guess that's what happens when you're forced to live without the person you love.
"Louis, get your ass in here!" I snapped out of my thoughts, flinching at the shout of Niall's voice. I lost grip of my cup of tea, causing the cup to fall on to the table. Luckily, the glass didn't shatter, but the tea spilt. The liquid flowed in a straight line, making its' way to the edge of the table.
"Shit." I mumbled to myself. I grabbed the nearest cloth next to me, then commenced to wiping the steamy mess up.
"Louis!"
"I'm coming!" I disappeared from the kitchen, then traced the calls to the living room - Niall was standing on top of a ladder, hanging a banister up. Zayn stood on the ladder as well, below him. He kept it steady, handing Niall nails to hammer the sign in place. "What is it?"
"Why aren't you helping, mate? You've been in the kitchen forever and this was your idea, after all." I hadn't even noticed I was lost in my thoughts for so long. So much has been on my mind, lately. I should relax. Harry is all right; he's okay. I have to continue to remind myself that.
"Sorry, boys. Where's Liam?"
"He went to pick up the food, like you asked. Are you sure you're okay?" Zayn asked, looking at me with a hint of curiosity.
"Oh, right. I'm fine. Anyways, I'll set up the balloons and move some of the furniture around. We're going to need room to dance."
"Embarrassing." Zayn mumbled.
"Too cool to dance now, are you?"
"You saw the shirt." I chuckled a bit at his answer; I'm sure it'll be hanging in his closet for years to come. I sat on the couch, using all the lung power I had to blow some of the balloons up. I admit, it was exhausting; my mouth became dry, constantly, and I felt a sore throat coming along. Luckily, Liam walked through the door with the food, which meant we would be picking up Harry soon after. Liam's parents decided they would cook for us, seeing as none of us, except Harry, are chefs. They won't be attending the small get together though, unfortunately.
"I'll sit the food on the oven and you guys can head out." Liam instructed. The party wasn't completely done yet, so it was decided that only Zayn and I would pick Harry up, leaving Niall and Liam to finish everything. Also, I thought it would be a nice gesture to give those two some alone time, seeing as Liam fancies Niall and all. They'll thank me later.
"Ready to go, babycakes?" Zayn hopped down from the ladder, then passed me a smile. I was more than ready. It'll be great to have Harry around the house again. His presence has truly been missed.
"All set." I grabbed the car keys, but, not too long after, they were snatched from my grip. "Hey!"
"You're not driving. You drive like a mad man."
