"So, I guess this is it, huh?" Zayn, Louis, and Harry stood near the cab, in front of the airport. Pedestrians walked by, every now and then. Vehicles beeping their horns could be heard in the distance. It was a cloudy day; so were their minds. Zayn opened his arms, allowing Harry to wrap his around his torso. "Take care, please, Haz."

"I'll try." He whispered in his ear, then stepped back, allowing Lou to get his favor of a hug.

"I don't want you to go, Zayn, but I understand." Tears fell down his cheeks, colliding with Zayn's blue and white varsity jacket. "Remember to keep in touch."

"I will." Lou released himself from the hug and took a step back. They stood there, still caught in the moment. Suddenly, they did a group hug, not wanting to let go. "I love you, guys." As those last words left Zayn's mouth, he let go. He waved his last farewell, then made his way into the airport, getting one last glance at his best friends before departing.

"Hazza?" Louis and Harry stood side by side, still keeping their eyes focused on the automatic doors, though Zayn was already gone.

"Yes?"

"Is this ever going to get any better?"

"I would like to think so."

Niall's Pov.

•Flashback

"Happy birthday, Niall!" Louis, Harry, Zayn, and Liam came barging in my suite, all still dressed in their pajamas. A rather large cake was being carried in towards my bed. The big 1-8. The candles were lit, shining over the vanilla and red velvet decorative dessert. I threw the blankets off of me and sat on the edge of my bed, taking in the beautiful sight. I wouldn't be able to spend this day with my parents or family, this year; however, I had my best friends and that was beyond good enough.

"Aww, mates. Thank you."

"Make a wish." Louis shouted. He seemed to be more ecstatic about it than I was. I closed my eyes, giving myself a moment to assemble a wish, then I blew the candles out. Claps filled the four walls, causing me to smile from ear to ear. "Well, you certainly aren't eating this right now." Louis grabbed for the cake, as well as Harry, and they took it away; I was deprived of one of the things I loved most, food.

"See you at breakfast, Ni." Zayn shot me a smile, then exited the room, leaving Liam and I alone. He stood there, smiling; cheeks blushed red. His hair was slightly trimmed, due to his new haircut. He changed his hair more than any of us; however, I loved every style on him. He walked over to me and, without wasting any time, cuffed my chin, then pulled me in. Our lips collided and moved in-sync. It was already the highlight of my day. His hands moved to my waist and he wrapped them around me, pulling me closer.

"Just wanted to give you a proper happy birthday." He chuckled.

"You've certainly accomplished that."

"I have something I want to give you later on." He had sort of a sneaky grin on his face and it made me even more anxious to find out what the surprise was.

"I can't wait." Our lips pressed together once more, holding on a little longer. The passion was bitter sweet and I craved his presence more than anything.

•End of flashback

The train was going through a tunnel, shrouding my body in darkness. The wheels' rust could be heard, driving sharply on their respective tracks. The ride through the tunnel came to an end. I leaned against the window, taking view of my sight. The grass was much greener on this side of my life and I felt a sense of relaxation. I decided to venture out today and just clear my head out; I felt alone, though I tried not to dwell on it too much. Roaming the streets of London alone was something I've never done, so I figured getting an early start would make things less complex.
