The blunette caught his sights as soon as she entered the dingy room. Classmates, chatty as usual, had already filled in as a grumbling Berlitz plopped down next to her Potions partner, Paul Ikari. Her midnight hair was strung up into a messy ponytail, and she was fastening her golden yellow robes over her skirt and button up. The girl sighed and she looked to the board but couldn't make out the writings of Professor Oak.
Paul couldn't help himself. He snidely remarked, "Take a bath in that perfume of yours, Troublesome?"
Dawn looked to the Ravenclaw boy. Her blue eyes were icy with annoyance. "What do you mean, Paul?"
"I could smell your nauseating perfume as soon as you entered the classroom," Paul smirked.
"And you smell like roses, Paul?" The girl added, "You seem like you painted yourself with broom wax, and then rolled in the pumpkin patch."
"And you could use a lesson on good broom maintenance. I've seen you on the Quidditch field."
"...And should I also learn to roll around with the pumpkins?"
After seemingly no response, Dawn pouted as Professor Oak strode into his classroom, acknowledging his students. "Hello class!" Some students cheerily responded, others dismissed him completely. "Some of you may have noticed a strong smell upon entering the classroom!" The old man took to the board and began to write, "That is Amortentia! The strongest love potion in the world. It takes the scent of whatever the person finds most appealing, or the scent of someone that they already fancy."
Paul choked on his drink.
Professor Oak continued with his lesson, but Dawn couldn't focus on anything the rest of the hour. No one took notice, but her face was so incredibly red.
