Alex pov.

As soon as the last whistle was blown, we hugged each in celebration. We shook hands with the England players, but we were all in a hurry to get off the field because our best friend was taken to the hospital. Christen hurries up further then everyone else, and I try to catch up also. She quickly changes, and everyone else joins us too. After we're ready to go we get on the bus and Jill speaks up.

"So I called Dawn, Holland will under go surgery the day after the final. Right now she's resting, she maybe awake so you'll go in pairs to see her. Keep in mind.. that this is hard for her, she had a recent set back to drugs and now this. She's going to need you guys the most now more then ever. Which is why we discussed that if we win.. our first victory tour game.. will be her farewell game. We can't risk her anymore, and we know her shoulder won't be the same." Jill tells us sadly, when she was done. She sat back down, everyone was quiet. We knew that day would come sooner then we thought, Holland is the heart and soul of the team.. like Abby was. I always thought Holland and I would play together until we both retired at the same time. I can't even imagine her no longer being on this team, and it makes me cry thinking about it. I remember when I had joined this team, she quickly took me under wing. She never let anyone or anything get in the way of my success and always supported my every decision.

"We're all feeling the same way Lex" Tobin tells me beside me, she gently puts her had on my knee for reassuring. Holland greatly impacted all of us in some way, I think that's what makes her so special. My phone stayed to ring in my bag, I quickly grab it and answer it.

"Hello?"

"Hey Alex, its Adeline" she sounds out of breath, with concern in her voice. I totally forgot Holland's family must be so worried.

"Oh my gosh hey, are you guys here?" I ask her

"We left the game as soon as Holland was being taken into the locker room but no one told us what hospital she was going too" She tells me worriedly. Adeline is Holland's hero, much like Holland is Adelines role model. Rylie is different though, she was never easy with affection with Holland like she is with Adeline. I would say I doubt Rylie came but.. seeing her in the documentary. I could tell she wanted to make things right.

"I'll send you the directions and the name"

"Thank you so much Alex"

"Of course, and Adeline? She's been going through so much. I don't even think you guys even know, but it's not my right to tell.. just be easy with her. " I tell her before we hang up on each other and I send her the details. The bus ride isn't too rowdy, other then the young ones preparing jokes to uplift Holland. Corny ones, I may add. They'll work for the mean time for sure, because she would love nothing more then to see us. She'll most likely even hype up Ashlyn about being able to play at least. Holland is never selfish, but she is competitive. She wants all of us to be successful.

My phone dings in my hand, notifying me that I've received a message.

Lucy: Can you tell me what hospital she's staying at?

Me: (random hospital)

Lucy: Thank you Alex, I also have something for you. I'll give it to you then, see you soon

What could Lucy Bronze possibly have for me?

Holland's PoV

"Dawwwwnnn" I poke at her shoulder, and she looks at me annoyed.

"What is it?"

"Can I be at the comfort of my apartment? I hate hospitals" I tell her, luckily I live here. I haven't seen my apartment in a while, I miss my bed. Most of the girls are probably staying there right now, especially Sarah. People have been blowing up my phone, from Instagram to Facebook. People wishing me well or talking about how sad it is.

"We'll see, but for right now.. let's play the quiet game." She puts her finger to her mouth encouragingly.

"Ugh noo, I hate that game. My mom and I always played it.. I usually lost"

"Poor woman"

"I know right, I suffered"

.........................................................

I'm flipping through the channels of the TV, but I can't find a decent show to watch. I grow frustrated, because Im bored... and Dawn still has us playing the quiet game. As I was about to speak, Dawn looks at me with a glare. I close my mouth shut, and hold my hands up in defence.

"Be right back" Dawn tells me getting up from her seat.

"Aha! I beat you" I tell her, and she shakes her head, but she can't fool me because I saw her lightly smile. She walks out the door, closing it behind her. Soon after, I hear the door knob turn, and it starts to open.

"Hey how are you feeling" Christen asks me coming to my side with Alex too. They stand on either side of me, both reaching for my hands. I'm so happy to see them, I've been wondering when they were going to show up.

"Bored, no good channels and Dawn made me play the quiet game, I wanted so badly to talk"

"We meant your shoulder silly" Alex playfully nudges my side.

"I'm not going to lie to you.. I feel like crap. I wanted to be there at the final, and once again.. I'm not going to play in it"
