Back at the campsite, Jin Hai and Luo Li were stress like they never been before. It's been a while now, and they still couldn't find Xiu Ying.

They decided to send a message to the commander Lu's house to inform him of their situation and asked for back up to find Xiu Ying. They hope for her to return by tomorrow. If not, they will search the woods in the morning with commander Lu's people to look for tracks Xiu Ying left behind.

It was late at night when commander Lu's household began to light up.

Commander Lu and Mo Fan were in the study room anxiously waiting for the messenger to inform them of Xiu Ying's message. The messenger was on the ground kneeling in the middle of the room. He was reluctant to relay the message he got from Jin Hai's falcon because there's a chance he might lose his head. Mo Fan was getting irritated by the messenger's quietness.

"What are you waiting for? Tell us Xiu Ying's message."
"Umm... It's not princess Xiu Ying's message. It's... it's princes Xiu Ying's guard Jin Hai."

"Jin Hai? Hurry up and tell us!"
"On the way out of the capital, a rebel snuck into princess Xiu Ying's carriage. He was injured, so princess Xiu Ying decided to save him. She was going to use him to get to their leader, but they both disappear together a couple of hours ago. The rebel doesn't know of princess Xiu Ying's identity. Jin Hai and Luo Li couldn't find them and sent this message to ask for back up."
"What!? How can something like this happen?"

Mo Fan looked to his father. "What should we do, father? Should we let uncle know of this?"

Commander Lu gave some thought to it. 'Xiu Ying is capable and smart. If she were to get caught by the rebels, she would definitely try to escape and send us a message to tell us her location. How should I tell my brother about this, his health has not been good these couple days.'

"Mo Fan, take some of your guards to help Jin Hai and Luo Li search for Xiu Ying. Make it as discreet as possible. We shouldn't let the rebels know of Xiu Ying's identity, or we will be at a disadvantage."
"Yes, father. What about uncle?"

"I will go to the palace to tell him myself. Mo Fan, you take care of this messenger."
"Yes, father."

Commander Lu then left and head to the palace. Mo Fan ordered some of his guards to lock up the messenger and guard him in until he comes back. He then left the capital with his friend, along with some guards.

At the palace, commander Lu was informing Emperor Song.

"What? Xiu Ying had disappeared with a rebel. How can you let something like this happen?"
"Brother... I have no excuses, but I'm sure that she's okay. I had sent Mo Fan to look for her. We should be getting some news of her pretty soon."

"No, I'm not going to sit here and just wait. I'm going to go find her."
"Brother, you can't act recklessly. Xiu Ying had disguised herself as a man when she went out. If our enemies know that Xiu Ying is your daughter, they will use her to go against us. I know you are worried, but please wait patiently. I know Mo Fan will bring her back to you safely."

"Promise me."
"I promise you, brother. After all, she is like my daughter and a younger sister to Mo Fan. We will kill anyone who lays a finger on her."

"Thank you."
"Please take care of your health, brother. I will be leaving now."

Commander Lu left the palace after his conversation with Emperor Song.
