Ovido Heights
Krista's povTwo weeks passed without any incident. My regular rituals had relaxed down a bit. There had been no visitations or hallucinations. I guess the ring took care of it. And also, there had been no news about Lucian. Last I heard he was staying at my Dad's place in Richmond but we never spoke. Tristane handled the arrangements and there was nothing after that.
I turned my attention to reviewing. I had no time to sulk or mend a broken heart. Enzo bought me all sorts of materials I could use, so I studied day and night. Dina had to pop in once in a while to bring me food. She knew I wanted to pass badly and she supported it. When the glorious day finally came I took the exam and I knew I was ready.
After that I laid off a bit. I slept most of the day, ate junk and even skipped jogging. My only partner at that time was Enzo. We took the exam together but parted ways later. Apparently his family planned a grand vacation/business meetings on another country. So I was left alone.
I touched the ring on my finger. It became a part of my everyday life now. I never took it off even when I took baths, considering I got attacked during those times. The black color remained shiny and simple. So small yet so powerful.
I went into my room and decided to browse the internet. It was just a few more weeks before the classes would start.
I sat on the bed with my laptop staring blankly at me. My fingers itching to enter my name and find out whether I made it or not.
"I mean, the entrance exam just happened last week. They couldn't have possibly posted the results just yet." I told myself. "So waiting another day before checking isn't gonna hurt, right?"
Oogy lifted his head and gave me a soft whine.
"Are you telling me to check now?" I asked and got another whine.
So I tapped the keys and entered my name. The screen started to load up and several names came on. I shifted through all the N's looking for my last name.
But I couldn't find it.
I went through the list again and again...and again.
Nothing.
"M-maybe it's on the next page?" I said to Oogy and he just sighed. His gray eyes looking bored. "Well aren't you helpful?"
I slammed the laptop back in place and stood up. It was friday. Dina was at her gym and won't be home until much later this evening. I got nothing else to do. I flipped my phone and thought about calling Tristane but what would I tell him? He's probably busy doing witch stuff. Allison was back with her training, Enzo was away and Sam was occupied dating guys.
"I'm bored!" I yelled.
***I ended up going to the cinema. Maybe some movie would alleviate my boredom. I checked the posters outside and stopped in front of the furthest one.
It was a comedy drama I guess. The girl on the poster was smiling while the guy looked like he was getting bullied. His necktie was around the girl's hand. It was kinda cute. Highschool lovestory at its finest. I bought a ticket and went inside.
As soon as the curtain was lifted I regretted being here. The place was packed with couples! I pulled down a seat, one that was away from them and tried to concentrate on my popcorn. We were halfway down the movie when the giggles and whispers began.
Great.
They really had to flirt in here, huh?
I carried my popcorn and got out.
Once outside I looked around where to go next. The mall? The park? Or maybe grab some drinks at a cafè?
"Someone's looking lost." I heard a voice said.
