* Nicole's P . O .V *
I was finally released from the hospital. Joe drove me back to our house. He told me multiple stories about the house and our family. I couldn't get my mind off of our missing child. We currently sat on the couch. He was telling me about our first Christmas together.
I jumped at the sound of Joe's-well our dog-Bruno barking estatically at the front door. Joe stood up and made his way to the door. "Oh my gosh" he said; opening the door. He came back with a small basket. There lay a baby. As I looked-A tingling feeling came over me. Like I knew that was my baby. "Kailaieah" I said.
He looked at me surprisedly. "Yea" he said. He looked semi-releaved. "C-can I"-"Yea" he said, knowing what I was asking. I carefully took the baby into my arms. It was like-I was content.Finished.Established.
He pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "Rick...yea, we just found Kailaieah....She was left on our porch...okay....Bye" he said, hanging up. "I'm gonna go-make her a bottle" he said before walking out. I went and sat down on the couch, wrapping her in the blanket I previously used. As I stared at the small baby. I wondered. How could I possibly not remember giving birth to something so beautiful; precious-it baffled me.
My gaze was interrupted when a bottle was held in front of my face. I took it and he walked around and sat next to me/Us. I began to bottle her-I felt new. It was weird.
* Later that Night *
I stood over Kailaieah who lay soundlessly sleeping in her crib. As I looked around, I felt...weird. There was tingling sensation...I knew where I was. I was remembering.
I raced into Joe and I's bedroom. He'd just came out of the bathroom. I ran to him...taking no time...I connected our lips. "I remember" I spoke...feeling a tear roll down my cheek. Our foreheads leaned against each others. "Everything"? He questioned. "Most of it"-"it's a working progress" he said, making me smile.
