* About a month later *
It's been a while since Joe and I's fight. After I left; I went and began staying with my sister (Who lives quite the distance away) Ever since I left, Joe is all I can think about. I almost needed him.
* Derrick's P . O . V *
I knocked on Joe's door. It slowly creaked open. I walked cautiously through the house. The TV was on. Joe sat on the couch; slouched- I thought he was asleep. As I proceeded- it reeked horribly of liquor. "Joe" I spoke. His head slung to the side. I was nervous. I tapped his cheek. "Joe...Wake up" I said, (lightly) smacking his cheek. He lightly moaned. He wouldn't wake up.
I pulled out my phone and called 911.

As I stood in the waiting room, I trie frantically to call Nicole. I knew about Joe and Nicole. C'mon, my wife is gonna tell me stuff.
Finally, after about an hour of trying to contact her, she answers.
"Hello?"-"Nicole?"-"What?"-"Joe had an accident"- She took a long sigh. "Is he alright?"-"I dunno, uh-I don't have very much information"-"okay...well, call me when he gets released" she said. Before I could say anything ... She hung up.
* Nicole's P . O . V *
I sat the phone down carefully. I leaned my head back in agony. How could this happen? I hoped desperately that he was okay. I quickly went back to feeding Kailaieah.
"Who was on the phone"? My sister questioned, poking her head through my door. "No one...a collect call" I lied.
* A Day Later *
I watched in awe as Kailaieah attempted to walk. That's all she did now...tried to grow up. My phone began ringing.
"Hello"-"Nicole"-I got up and walked into the other room."yea"-"Joe just got released"-"cool"-"But...he refuses to do ANYTHING"-"Why?"-"He wants to see y'all"-"The army's tryin to prosecute him"-"why?"-"He missed his date....He and I were s'pose to go back to Iran A couple days ago"- I gasped- but it wasn't because of what Derrick had said.
* Derrick's P . O . V *
There was silence as I spoke into the phone. "Nicole"-"Nicole" I figured her phone died or she hung up.
It was a hopeless cause...
