A/N: thought I would give you a super cute Adam one :)

You wake up, the sunlight streaming into your bedroom and shining in your eyes. You turn in bed, hoping to find your husband's warm body next to you, but once again finding cold sheets. You huff and run your hands over your face and getting up to start your day, alone. You're so happy that Adam is getting to do what he loves after all of his hard work, but you're tired of waking up alone and pretty much living solo. On the rare occasion that Adam is home, he's sleeping or working, and you never really get to spend time with him before he has to leave to shoot again. You miss him desperately and you want this all to be over because you have a secret that you've been waiting to tell him for weeks. 

You're two months pregnant. 

You and Adam have always wanted to start a family together and you were so excited when you found out, but as the weeks have gone on, becoming more heartbroken that Adam hasn't been home for you to tell him. He's told you multiple times that things are going well and he should be home soon but he's been saying that for weeks, so now you don't get your hopes up. Your phone rings and Adam's name appears on your screen. 

"Good morning." You answer, pouring yourself a bowl of cereal. 

"Good morning gorgeous. I'm coming home and I have some news." He says. 

Your heart leaps in excitement and a smile fills your face.

"Thank god. I've missed you." You say, your hand falling to your barely swollen stomach. 

"I've missed you too. I'll be home in a couple of hours. I love you." He says. 

"I love you too." You answer and hang up, squealing with excitement. 

You finally get to tell him that he's going to be a dad. You thought of coming up with something cute to surprise him but he's a pretty simple guy so you decided to keep it simple. You quickly finish your breakfast and retrieve the test from the bathroom and find a random gift box from last Christmas, setting the test inside. You grab a piece of paper and a pen, writing a note that says:

I can't wait to meet you daddy!

You stick the note inside and close the box and wait patiently for Adam's arrival. A couple of hours later, you hear the door start to unlock and you jump up, running toward it. As soon as he opens the door, you have your arms around him and your legs locked around his waist. He chuckles and wraps his arms around your much smaller frame. 

"Hey." He whispers, kissing your temple.

"Hi." You say, your smile taking over your entire face. 

"I missed you." He says, stroking your hair gently. 

"I missed you more." You say, never wanting to let go of him. 

After lots more hugging and kisses, you help him bring his luggage inside, your excitement over the little box on the table growing. 

"Okay, I've got some news." Adam says

"Mhm." You say, grabbing a glass of water. 

He runs a hand through his long hair, looking stressed which makes your stomach sink down to your feet. 

"Adam what's going on?" You ask. 

"Honey, shooting has been delayed for a while. I get to be home for a couple of weeks before I have to go back but in order to catch up and make our deadlines I have to be there...for seven months." He says. 

Instantly it feels like you've been punched in the stomach and your heart shatters into a trillion pieces. Your lips starts to quiver and tears fill your eyes and your unable to stop them from falling down your cheeks. 

"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." He says, standing up and wrapping you in his arms. 

You sob into his chest, holding onto his shirt for dear life. You can't believe that he's going to be gone for seven months. He's never been gone for more than a couple of weeks and even then you're barely able to make it. Now he's going to be gone for months while you're pregnant. Adam soothes you as best he can, holding you and stroking your hair, placing gentle kisses on the top of your head as you cry yourself out. Once you're sure that there is no more water left in your body for you to cry, you sit back, wiping your eyes and feeling exhausted. 

"I know it seems like forever but I promise it will go quickly. You won't be alone for one second longer than those seven months, I promise." He says, holding your hands and squeezing them tightly. 

"Adam I have to tell you something." You say, your voice hoarse from your episode. 

"Hm?" He says, his thumbs running over the backs of your hands. 

You pull one of your hands from his to grab the box on the table and hand it to him. He looks confused, his eyebrows knitted together. 

"It's a present. I couldn't find any other box other than the ones from Christmas." You chuckle lightly, your heart still aching. 

He still looks confused, just holding it in his hands. 

"Open it silly." You say, nudging his arm. 

He pulls the top off the box, and pulls the folded note from it. His eyes scan over it for a moment as he reads it and they grow wide then looking back into the box and pulling out the test.

"You're pregnant?" He asks, his hazel eyes wide with wonder. 

You nod your head, feeling like you're about to crumble again. 

"Oh my god." He says, scooping you up in his arms. 

Your emotions are all over the place, bouncing from sorrow to elation, not knowing what to feel. 

"We're going to be parents." Adam says in disbelief as he places you back onto the ground, his eyes filled with tears. 

"But Adam, I'm already two months along. You don't even come back until November. You're going to miss everything." You say, your voice breaking along with your heart. 

The realization hits him and he tangles his fingers in his long hair. 

"Shit." He mumbles to himself. 

"What if you're not here when--" You say, thinking the worst but Adam stops you. 

"No, no, I'm going to figure this out. There is no way in hell that I'm going to miss this. You are my wife and this is our baby, I'm not missing this for some dumb movie." He says, sounding determined. 

"Adam no, this is your dream I can't let you--" You start to say but he stops you again. 

"And you are my family. This is our life and I am not going to miss our baby growing and being born for a stupid job. This is my dream. You both have been and always will be my dream." He says, his large hand falling to your hardly swollen stomach. 

"Adam..." You whisper, your heart so full it feels like it's going to explode. 

"I love you. More than anything in the world and I will be by your side every step of the way. I will make sure of it." He says, taking your face in his hands. 

He kisses you softly and sweetly, making all of your worries and fears disappear into nothing and it's just you, him, and your little baby in that room, everything you'll ever need.
