A/N: just wanted to say this real quick even though you probably figured it out already, in all my Adam imagines, he is a single, unmarried man. we respect Ms. Joanne in this house the same as Adam so just wanted to say that. all hail Queen Joanne
You shove your shaking hands into your pockets as you wait for your newest client to arrive, and you can hear your blood racing in your ears and almost see your heart beating in your chest. You're terrified, but excited to start this new chapter in your life as Adam Driver's hair dresser. You picked up the job though a friend who is a hair dresser for some other celebrities and the most excited you've ever been is when you got the call that you got the job. You packed up your entire life and moved to New York where Adam lived, finding a tiny studio apartment that you were absolutely in love with. You were to travel with Adam to all of his shoots, sets, shows, and basically anywhere he was going to be being filmed. Today is your first day on set with Adam, you've never met him, and it's the understatement of the year to say you were a little scared. You were completely fucking terrified. He is gorgeous. Like Greek god gorgeous, and you'd be lying if you said you didn't have a crush on him, but you have to keep telling yourself that you're his hair dresser and this is going to be a professional relationship. He won't even look at you like that anyway. You're startled out of your thoughts when you hear the trailer door open and Adam walks in, a script under his arm and two coffees, one in each hand. He's even more beautiful in person. He's much taller than you, having at least six or seven inches on you,
"Y/N?" He asks.
You nod your head, trying to gather words to form sentences.
"Hi, I'm Adam." He smiles.
"I know." You say, giggling slightly.
"I brought you coffee. I hope just black is okay." He says, handing the cup to you.
"Perfect. Thank you." You say, taking it from him.
Your fingers brush his and your face heats up immediately. Your heart is beating erratically in your chest and you take a sip from the coffee, trying to calm your nerves. He takes his jacket off and hangs it up, then coming to sit down in the chair in front of you. You lower him down in the chair because even sitting, he's taller than you are. He chuckles and the sound is music to your ears.
"So what are we doing today?" You ask, discreetly trying to shake the nerves from your body.
"Just a quick promo for SNL. I'm hosting next week." He says.
"How fun! Any certain way you like it to look?" You say, cursing yourself for your still shaking hands as you start to run your them through his hair.
You're shocked at how well he takes care of it. It's soft, shiny, and free of tangles. The dark raven color perfectly compliments his pale skin tone and the long length perfectly frames his handsome face. You quickly catch his hazel eyes in the mirror as he watches you intently, but you look away, blush again burning your cheeks.
"Surprise me. I wanna see what you can do." He says, a small smile playing on his lips, making eye contact with you once again.
Your stomach lights up with butterflies and if you didn't know better, you'd think he's flirting with you. As you work with his hair, he flips through his script, quietly reciting lines to himself. You smile at this, enjoying seeing him work. You get distracted, watching him in the mirror as he talks to himself and he looks up, once again catching your eyes and one corner of his mouth lifts into a smirk, making your cheeks burn red and your hands start to sweat. You clear your throat, quickly wiping your hands on your apron, then getting back to work, catching Adam staring at you several times. You trim some of his dead ends, give him a light coat of hairspray, and lay down some of his rouge hairs, finished.
"There you go." You say, brushing the trimmed hairs off of his broad and muscular shoulders.
He leans forward looking in the mirror. He's quiet for a moment, making your heart jump into your throat.
"It's amazing." He says.
Relief floods you and you sigh to yourself.
"Seriously. Most of my other hair people just made me look stupid, or douchey, but this is the first time I've really, really liked my hair." He says.
"I'm glad I could help." You say.
"Thank you. It's amazing." He says.
He gathers his things as you clean up your work space.
"It was nice to meet you Y/N. I can't wait to work with you more." He says, winking at you and leaving the trailer.
You feel like you're going to pass out and you grip onto the back of the chair in front of you. You bite your lip as you try to contain your smile and you close your eyes. You think you're going to really, really like this job.
