Part 17

It's the morning after the horrific day I'm trying hard to forget, that four-lettered name ringing in my ears 'Eric'.
Last night was not a good night, nightmares that were partly true. Eric lying there cold blooded with police and ambulances surrounding him. I need to forget, after all I only knew him about three days it was hardly love.
I heard the sound of the birds in the trees and the sound of two other four-lettered named people waking up after yesterday, Josh and Ruby. "Morning" I said to Josh. "Or should I say morning hero?" I said after trying to lighten the atmosphere with laughs that clearly didn't work. "No baby, don't call me hero. Call me 'zero' you know? The equivalent to nothing..." I put my head in my hands and rolled back into bed "have a good day" I said as it looks like a day in bed for me...

-5 hours later- 15:00pm-
"Amanda?" I heard a familiar voice shout, couldn't quite recognise it. "Don't you remember this face?" It was Dan! Dan the moron coming back to see me! I would be happier if I could actually see his face and not picture Eric's all the time, but I just went with it just to try and get him out my life.
"Amanda, me and Jenny have something to tell you" I looked around, no Jenny. "You mean just you? Jenny isn't here" he chuckled, "yeah, errmmm... We're engaged" I didn't know what to say so I just sat there on the edge of my bed and applauded him slowly "what do you want me to say?" I asked him seriously, he hesitated "congrats at least?" I. Was. Fuming.
"No. Not happening. I just got out of a very serious situation that was life-risking and you come here with the cheek to announce your engagement" he stumbled on his words "Amanda - I... I.." I sharply cut him off "save in Daniel, just get out" woah, I full-named him!

Dans P.O.V:
I just left Amanda's house and she was livid with me. I wanted to invite her, get to be friends with her again but no. Obviously not.
"Dan? Leaving already?" Josh said. "Uhh, looks that way buddy" I replied with, I felt embarrassed or humiliated for some reason... Didn't quite understand what to say. "Oh ok bud, see you soon" I smiled and left their house, as soon as I stepped on the cold concrete outside I rang Jenny.
Answerphone: Hey you've reached my voicemail, leave a message and I will get back as soon as!
"Hey Jen, it's me.. Uhh you better come see Amanda after what happened with her yesterday, you know, making headlines in the news and stuff. She flipped at me after I told her were engaged. I'm worried for her babe. Ok, see you soon. I love you."
No reply after three hours it's now 18:00pm
I went to see my friends Tyler and Reece, I met them in a local diner and we talked about Josh and Amanda. "Dan it's only been a day, maybe even less than a day" Reece said. He is right "I know but I have a right to be concerned!" He continued eating his meal...
-an hour later-
*beep beep*
Text from Jenny! Finally! Named in my contacts as bæ.
It read: hey just got your voicemail, I called her and she is fine. Just needs her friends support.
Just after I read it, she rang me. Strange... The convosation went like this:
Me: Jen? Are you alright?
Jenny: yes, babe I'm fine. I'm at the hospital
Me: why?!
Jenny: please don't be mad.
Me: Jenny just tell me already!
Jenny: I'm sat here with Eric. He didn't die.
Me: but.. What... He was pronounced dead at the scene?!
Jenny: I know, the paramedic was able to bring him back to life! He is on a lot of medication just to bring him round.
Me: Jenny, I don't want him to come round. Neither does Josh or Amanda! I can't believe this!
Jenny: I know, it's just had a broadcast on the news with the headline as 'False Information' I'm gonna call Amanda again, tell her to put the news on. Saves us a job of telling her ourselves!
Me: whatever. I will see you later.
I hung up the phone and independently tried to find a way to stop Eric from pulling through.
