=====LAST TIME=====

"So that was it," I said softly to myself. "Day one of many..."

I yawned as I grabbed my own pj's. "Can't wait for tomorrow..."

I practically fell into my bed that night.

I had a whole season ahead of me...

=====NOW=====

===============================================================

Chis and I were up early this particular morning. Like, really early. Five-thirty, to be exact. Half of me cared deeply about everything and I was willing to cry over spilled milk. The other half of me didn't give a single fuck and would be willing to drive the campers harder than Chef ever could. That's how tired I was.

And my cousin was totally ready to use that to his sadistic advantage.

By seven-o-clock, Chris and I were standing in front of the cabins. I was leaning on him, almost asleep. Chris was holding a megaphone and an airhorn. He gave me a gentle nudge, causing me to stand up. I yawned once again as he handed me the airhorn.

"Hey," he smiled down at me.

"Hmm?" I looked up at him, holding the airhorn limply in my hands.

"I know your tired, Kimi, but I need you to do something for me."

"Mhmm?" I nodded.

"I need you to blow the airhorn."

He held the megaphone in front of me and used his other hand to gently lift my arm that was holding the airhorn.

I was too tired to think. I pressed the button as soon as the horn was lined up with the megaphone.

*BEEEEEERRRRRRRRN*

To be honest, I was too tired to even expect the noise coming. I did, in fact, scream, dropping the airhorn after a moment and flailing my arms. I was gasping for breath, holding a hand to my racing heart as my cousin laughed.

I was finally awake enough to slap him. So I did. "Ow..."

"OW!" I ignored my cousin's pain, instead focusing on Leshawna's shouting from the cabin. "It's seven in the morning!"

I watched with wide eyes as she came to the window in, honestly, what looked like purple lingerie. She continued, shaking a fist towards us as she said, "Do I look like a farmer to you?"

Without missing a beat, I pointed at Chris, who was still laughing and rubbing his arm.

"Oh, don't worry, baby. I know that wasn't you."

We gave the campers an hour to get ready and meet back in front of the cabins. When everyone was lined up, Chris started talking.

"Morning!"

I watched half of the campers yawn.

"Hope you slept well."

"Hi, Chris." Heather's smile really put me off. She waved and pointed at my cousin's legs. "You look really buff in those shorts."

I turned to the side and pretended to gag, causing a little string of laughter among the campers.
