~next morning~

I woke up early. I put on my uniforms and head to the Great Hall. There were a couple of people. I went to the Slytherin house table. As I was eating peacefully, I felt eyes on me. I turned around and saw two red haired boys and a dark skinned boy. They were all laughing, but one of the red heads was just looking at me. He noticed I was looking back, so he looked down quickly, which made the other two laugh even harder. He looked redder than his hair. I smiled and turned back around. Minutes later, the Great Hall was getting crowded, soon it was full of students. I saw someone coming to the Slytherin's table. I looked up and saw dad. He was giving us some papers. When he gave me it, I looked at it. It was the schedule. I was having two hours of Transfiguration with the Gryffindor house, then one hour of Charms with the Hufflepuff house, then lunch break and then two hours of Potions with the Gryffindor house. I looked at the clock and see it was almost nine, so I got up and made my way to the Transfiguration class.

"Evelyn!", I heard someone calling for me, "Evelyn, wait up!", I turned around and saw Hermione running to me. I smiled and waved at her. When she reached up to me, we went to the Transfiguration class together. When we entered the class, it was half full. I looked around the class and saw the Slytherin girls I share the dorm with. Raven was sitting alone in a bench, while Pansy Parkinson (whose face is like a bulldog's) and Millicent Bulstrode (whose attitude is bigger then herself) were sitting behind her giggling about something. Raven was looking sad. I kinda felt bad for her but then I remembered what she had said about Hermione in the train the other day. I looked away from her and grabbed Hermione's hand taking her to the front of the class and sat in front of some two Gryffindor boys. We took out our books and waited for the lesson to start. That's when professor McGonagall entered the class. The class grew silent as she was looking at us with a sever expression.

"Good morning everyone. Before we start, I want total discipline from all of you. Transfiguration is not an easy subject. If pay attention and you won't fail. Today we will start with the Transfiguration Alphabet. This is a very important part of Transfiguration. Another very important part of transfiguration is the changing. Now, everyone copy what it's written on the blackboard.", she said and I took out my quill, ink and parchment; and started to write. I looked up and saw that professor McGonagall was not here anymore. I was about to ask Hermione where she was, when I saw a cat wearing glasses just like McGonagall's. I continued writing when I heard the doors open. I looked behind and saw Harry Potter walking into the class along side none other than Ron Weasley. I saw Hermione sighing and shaking her head, turning back to writing. I, on other hand, was curious what McGonagall has to say.

"Phew, amazing!", I heard Ron say. "Can you imagine the look on Mcgonagall's face if we were late?", he continued. Professor McGonagall jumped off her desk and transformed back into her human form, living the boys amazed by it.

"That was bloody brilliant!", said Ron.

"Well thank you for that assessment, mister Weasley. Perhaps, it'll be more useful if I'll transfigure mister Potter and yourself into pocket watch. Then maybe one of you will be on time.", she said back.

"We got lost", said Harry.

"Then perhaps a map", she said. "I trust you do need find your sits", and with that she went back to her desk.

"It's going to be a long year", whispered Hermione to me.

"With those two, no doubt", I whispered back and continued writing.

~time skip to Potions class~

The lunch break was going to end in any minutes, so me and Hermione were walking to the Potion class together. The class was placed in one of the classes from the dungeons. We entered the class and sat on the second row. Soon the bell rang, and the class was getting crowded, until it was full. Surprisingly, Harry and Ron came just in time, but they still didn't have seats next to each other. The only seats left were one in between Hermione and Daphne Greengrass (a girl from Slytherin) and in between me and the boy I met on the train, Neville Longbottom. Harry sat in between me and Neville while Ron in between Hermione and Daphne. When Harry sat down, I felt a weird tingling feeling coming from my left shoulder where I had my scar. I put my hand there trying to sooth the feeling which was getting more painful. I saw Harry looking at me confused. I took my hand away from my shoulder and smiled at him. He returned the smile not questioning anything. Not long after, the door opened harsh, and closed loudly, making everyone go silent, as man in black robes entered the class and made his way to the front desk. He happened to be our potion teacher, professor Snape, also known as my father. I could feel some of the students looking at me, which made me flushed. I hated the attention.

"There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantation in this class", he started darting his eyes from me to the other Slytherins  and glances a bit at some Gryffindors too, "as such I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art of this potion making. However for those select few", he said looking at Draco Malfoy and Raven Lestrange for a few seconds, which made me frown, then continued, "who possess in the predisposition. I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle the fame, brew glory and even put a stopper in death. And then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not pay attention", he said raising his voice at the end. I looked at a Harry and saw him writing something not being attentive at what my father said, so bumped my right elbow into his arm, making him look at me, and nodded my head towards my father. He immediately put his quill into the ink and looked at my father. He approached the desk and was looking straight at Harry.

"Mister Potter... Our new- celebrity.", he said on a mocking tone. "Tell me what would I get if I added powder root asphodel to and infusion of wormwood?", he asked Harry and i saw Hermione raising her hand. Harry was just shaking his head. "You don't know? Well let's try again, where, mister Potter, would you look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?"

"I don't know sir", he said, looking down. At this point Hermione's hand was almost reaching the ceiling.

"And what is the difference between a monkshood and wolfbane?", Hermione was raising from her sit.

"I don't know sir", he said looking at him this time.

"Pity", he continued, "Clearly, fame isn't everything. Is it, mister Potter?", he ended.

"Clearly", started Harry, mocking dad and make me look at him shocked. "Hermione, knows. Is a pity not to ask her", everyone, but me and Harry, started to chuckle at that.

"Silence!", he said glaring at Harry and making his way to our desk. "Put your hand down, silly girl!", he said not looking at Hermione and taking a chair sitting it in front of Harry. "For your information, Potter. Asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion is it known as the draught of the living dead. A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat it will save you from most poisons. As for the monkshood and wolfbane they are the same plant which also goes by the name of aconite. Well, why aren't you all copying this down!?" he said raising his voice at the last sentence, making everyone open their notebooks and start writing. He made his way back to the front desk.

"And Gryffindor's note that five points will be taken from your house, for your classmates cheek"

When the class was over, everyone were making their way out of the class. I turned to Hermione who was about to wait for me.

"Go ahead. I need to ask d- professor Snape something", I said earning a nod from her.

"Alright then. See you at supper", I nodded and waved 'good-bye', waiting for the others to get out. As everyone was out I went straight to the front desk and waited for my father to acknowledge me. He didn't even look up and said:

"Yes Evelyn?", he said signing papers.

"What was that all about?"

"What was what?"

"Back then with Harry. Why were you harsh with him? What did he ever do to you? I mean you just met him today.", I said and he finally looked at me putting the quill into the ink.

"Evelyn, you were there. You must have seen the whole- scene. And just for your information I was harsh with him because he didn't pay attention"

"He was writing what you were saying, about potions", I cut him off.

"He would have enough time to write that after class", he said taking his quill again and starting writing, "And if he was a little bit smarter he would knows that what I said was not that very  important. Now if you're done interrogating me,you better be off to the Great Hall. The supper will be in any moments now.", I stood there for a few seconds and then nodded.

"Yes, dad", I started walking out of the class.

As soon as I was out of the class I ran to the common room and left my books and notebooks there. I ignored the stares the girls I was sharing the dorm with and ran back out straight to the Great Hall. There I saw Hermione and I waved to her and she waved back. After the supper I waited for Hermione at the entrance and walked into the common room direction together, until we separated.
