A hoot sound woke me up. I looked around the room trying to find the source of the hooting sound. I saw my owl coming back. I got up and took the letter it received. The letter's envelope was secured with a dark green seal and an engraved snake. The Malfoy's, I thought, knowing their blood purity proudness along with their respected reputation. Lucky for me, dad is 'friends' with mister Malfoy, so I know a part of the things they've done. Mister Malfoy used to come to our house for some business matters, and let's say he wasn't really quiet. I opened the envelope and took out the letter. I immediately recognized the fast curvy writing of my best friend.
'Dear Evelyn,
Thank you for writing me. I was honestly getting really bored and seriously lonely.
Also the news you gave me are incredible. I can't wait to finally see you again. Draco has been a prick (as always), but this time he was worse than before. He would follow me anywhere and it's really annoying. By the way, our house elf, Dobby, has been behaving weird, well weirder than before. I want to know what going on with him. He disappeared yesterday, for at least three hours.
Anyways, I will tell you details when I'll see you. By the way, today we're all going in Diagon Alley to buy, school supplies and the books.Your, Raven Lestrange'
As I read it I couldn't help but smile. I miss her so much. I reread the letter a few times, then I noticed a weird thing in it. The last sentence was odd. I haven't received the letter from Hogwarts yet, how could she know what we need for the next year? I got up and dressed quickly and ran downstairs into the kitchen where dad was reading the Daily Prophet while drinking his coffee, which he almost spilled it being scarred by me.
"Evelyn! What is the matter of all these?", he asked furiously.
"Did the post came?", I asked ignoring his question. He sighted and continued.
"On the table.", he continued to read the newspaper.
I was looking through the papers the post received today. Everything were just coupons from random shops either in Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade. There even was the Quibbler (the weirdest magazine I've ever came around, but honestly it was really fun to read when I'm bored or it's raining and I can't sneak out with the broom). Annoyed, I groaned and sat in a chair, putting my head in my hands.
"Something wrong?", asked dad. I raised my head and see his face was still buried into the newspaper.
"Dad, I can't be expelled, can I?", he put the Prophet down, looking at me suspicious.
"What did you do?"
"Nothing I swear", I said putting my hands up in defense. "Well, you see, after you told me you'll take me to the Malfoy's today, I got excited and messaged Raven telling her and she wrote me they'll go to Diagon Alley to get the school supplies and the books, and I'm really worried because I haven't received the list of all those things yet.", I explained looking down.
"Oh, well, I'm sure it'll come-", he got interrupted by a loud noise on the window. I looked in it's way and saw an owl on the outside's window sill. Dad got up and went to the window and opened it. The owl came in and left the letter then left.I looked at the owl as it was flying away. I took a bowl and started to pour some cereals and milk in it and started to eat.
"So, who's that from?", I asked.
"It's for you", I looked at him confused. Usually my mail is coming through my bedroom's window.
"Oh, it must be from Harry, I sent him multiply letters for the past weeks and he still haven't answer. Guess that's how it is when you're famous", I chuckled, taking another sip from my meal.
