"Aren't you cold?" She asked.
Mackie is sitting at the edge facing the vast pool at the back of this huge mansion and it's almost dawn. She never imagined herself sitting there like that. This place should be a home. Her true home. But, She can't still decipher everything. She was crying the entire day and just sit there. The cold wind touches her skin now and she feels that it's getting colder.
She didn't answer and just stared blankly at the horizon. Seems like her own skin disregards even the temperature that she couldn't almost feel it. Even the senses. Suddenly She covered her a jacket from her back and sitted beside and dipped her feet in the water like what she's doing. She can smell her really nice like that day she pulled her for a hug as a fan.
She did not looked at her though.
"T-thank you."
"Mackie, at least you should eat." She speak again.
"I-I'm sorry M-miss Céline... I just..." Mackie bit her lower lip trying to speak and at least say something.
"Mackie..." she paused. "... I know, I might be asking too much but, I hope you'll... you'll find this place, comfortable as your new home in time and... find a place for me as your... as your Mother inside your heart." Her words are like pleading. Knocking on her for something to give. Her accent is more clearer this close that forgot She just recently was listening on interviews online and on television.
Swallowing hard, Mackie still find it hard to believe. And the truth, it seems to still silt her from within. She never imagined. Never even dreamed. She love her and adore her. But only because she inspires her as a musician. Not because of something else.
"I'm sorry. I don't want to rush things for you. But I wanted you to feel safe here. Your Papa will be home in the morning with Renè Charles and the twins. They're excited to see you." She finally looked at her seeing her smile and teary eyes. She can't help but ask why she's feeling the pang of pain in her heart. It pains her to see her cry.
She tried to smile and fortunately able to pull a good one. Touched her hand and say, "Thank you. Until now, things seems to sink in my mind just a little bit too slow. I'm sorry if I'm not adjusting well." Her other hand touched hers this time.
"I'm the one to ask apologies to you. For everything. It's been so long and I never realized that I missed you so much. Believing that I've lost you on that crash. I'm... I'm really truly sorry, my love." She finally break down. And the pain in her heart is like a thousand knives stabbing. She's losing on her tears. Lost in everything that is happening.
