Even that kid Mackie and her Mom left the room, Céline's still standing facing the door left in awe. Some feeling inside her can't stop wondering about that kid. Securities all there looking at her and waiting for her next move but she just stand still. The air is different from when that kid entered in until she left the door of that room. She's the last one from the people who were given an access backstage and for the meet and greet but that kid made her stopped, literally and wonder what it is that kept her like that during a conversation.
"That kid is interesting huh?"
Céline was caught off guard but paid her attention to Christy, her stylist. She's trying to get the gifts into the places so she would be able to read the letters there as well. But she got scared Christy's right. She's chewing her gum, like the usual with her hair mohawk and with highlights.
"She drawn you too close. Have you met her before?" She took a breath and take her seat again. Maybe what happened is what left her hanging like that. At least, that's what she wanted herself to believe. Christy gave her a bottle of water.
"Thank you..." she reached out for the water and continued. "No. Just earlier after the show."
Christy, helped her took the monitor earpiece off her dress so she could finally rest well and then go home afterwards. She took the sketch Mackie gave her from all the gifts she had received from the fans and look at it. She smiled.
"That kid is sweet."
"And talented! Wow! She draw that?"
"She did." And she observed on it. There goes a signature and her name below it together with the date she finished the artwork. She must be making this that long since it's really perfect in shades. Céline wonder what color she used for this.
"Really caught your attention huh? What's her name?"
"It's Mackie." Mackie. Mackie. That name. She couldn't possibly forget it now. She meets a lot of fans in different ages, but this one had left her something remarkable. Although she took a glimpse at the drawing so Christy won't think she's crazed over that kid.
But why would she even care if that's so? Why would it matter that much? And what the heck is wrong with that?!
"Mackie?... Like a guy's name. That girl has huge resemblance of you though." That caught her off.
"Huh?... What do you mean?"
"Well... look at this..." Christy turned on the camera and showed her the picture of them two. She was right! Except that her hair is darker than hers now that she's wearing hair dye.
Now she was thinking maybe why her sight aren't parting her ever since. That's why! She thought that it's just something about that girl's hair.
"I doubted she's Filipino. It's something in the physique. And hers, They're the same as yours. Could you believe that? She's like a younger Céline Dion! I wonder if she could sing too."
"Well, you know I am a big fan of yours, Céline. I've seen a lot of photos of you when you were young."
Her eyes cannot part her mobile phone with the picture of them two. She made Christy passed it on her phone. The way they smile, they both have the same! That realization would be the very first obvious similarity in this picture but seems like she can't get over it! After landing the plane From San Andreas, She's riding the limo back to their house at Florida. Renè went home ahead for some emergencies.
She wondered at the picture once more.
"I wonder if you're alive... I wonder if you'll look like me. Or... like this girl in the picture." She said almost whispering.
She can't help her tears thinking about it again. Why is it coming back to her now? All of it, she thought had disappeared a long long time ago.
She arrived at home and found her husband sitting at the living area. He greeted her with a kiss when she started talking to Renè about what happened disregarding the jet lag, the tiresome 6 months tour and everything else going on with her.
"Renè, she looked exactly like me when I was her age! Honey, I am serious." She exclaimed.
Céline was walking back and forth in front of his husband at their living area. The kids are out to their grandparent's house for a weekend vacation and they're an hour away for another meeting for the preparation in Caesar's Palace and San Andreas was the last place from Courage tour. And then she's up for the regular show at Caesar's Palace.
"Honey please calm down. You must be mistaken. It couldn't be."
"But I am sure of it Renè. I feel for that kid, Honey. Look at this." She said and showed Renè the picture from her phone. Although seems impossible, he was convinced too. She really looked like Céline.
"It's not possible." He remarked.
"Renè, what if... what if she didn't die in the crash. W-what if..."
He stood up and embraced his crying wife. This is the most that he hated to happen. For her wife to be in that situation again, it's the worst feeling seeing her like that. She'd been through a lot and nobody else knows but the closest family members. It has been kept a secret from the media ever since and was buried a long time ago. But now. It seems to come back again. And it pains him. It pains him so much.
"Honey, I don't want to cause this any more for you. I don't want you believing false hopes and end up depressed once more. That girl just happen to have the same traits you also have."
"But it's not impossible right?"
"Shh... Honey..."
"I'm sorry. I just wish she's alive and here with me. I just miss her for so long, so much, Renè. And it pains me realizing I'd forgotten about her that long." She said between her sobs. And that's when her hidden heartache raised again. She thought that nothing would be more painful when she lost her child but now that it raised the flag again inside her, seeing that child, it pains her more than ever seeing her alive in the eyes of a stranger.
