A little cry was heard
Tired and exhausted, she relaxed
A smile grew on her face
Another life was given birth

Anxious face of the father changed
A tinge of despair showed
It was a baby girl
His misfortune which he feared

Her mother cried all day
For she couldn't stand all the blame
Neither end her own one's life
So she fought till the very end

The baby grew up fighting the odds
Realisation of an ugly society haunted her
But like mother like daughter
She was determined to fight

She was determined to fight
Fight her own blood
Fight for her own rights
Which she rarely knew was hers

Being excluded from education
Being bogged down by the traditions
Being under patriarchy
Made her realise the meaning of her life

She fought for education, tasted victory
She fought for her mother, won
But when she fought for her rights
She was raped

It did bury her life but didn't kill her
Showing where she belonged was their priority
But some lives represent seeds
She started growing up and maturing

Her dreams, her goals changed
Her focus shifted from herself to the society
She became more aware of herself
She radiated confidence not anger

At last her life was blessed
Her soul reflected happiness
Her dreams became reality
To live in a better society

From rags she grew up
Her long fights were now stand still
Her dream to live in a better way were fulfilled
But the key to her joy lied elsewhere

It lied in giving her mother a better life
It lied in running a social initiative
An initiative for all the rape survivors
She was happier than ever!
