looking out for you by joy again
and there finn was, hanging onto his love for a girl who's heart belonged to another. y/n asked finn to mention her to jack, her crush. it seemed like jack had no interest in her, so he didn't. but it wouldn't broken her heart if finn did nothing, so he told her he did; and she was so happy.
and sometimes he just wondered, i guess i should stop looking out for you like i always do. when will you start looking out for me too? instead of leaving me staring at my shoes.
finn kicked the pavement out of anger, watching as y/n skipped joyfully away from him. she left him stranded at the playground with his feelings for her surrounding him like an army of soldiers.
a few months later, y/n had gathered the courage to start hanging out with jack. finn knew for a fact that jack was not interested in her and it ached whenever she would glance at him when she was with jack. finn felt guilty.
"this is a love song, for a girl, who will never know its about her." finn and ayla sung, strumming his guitar and getting into his feels. he looked up and searched the balcony for y/n, smiling weakly at her and staring back down at his shoes. the crowd sung along with ayla and finn. "know it's pretty stupid, but i'm much too shy to tell her."
"she's beaming that smile, i'm all tripped up on my own throat. i guess there is no hope."
snow was y/n's favourite thing that came to vancouver. finn watched as she walked further and further from him. "i guess i should go." he yelled for her. all of the talking about jack and how he rejected her, yet all finn wanted to talk about was themselves.
all he wanted was for her to notice that he was always there and that he was the one she's meant to be with.
"it's the same old situation you've always got me waiting come on dear, i think times a-wastin' before we have to go back inside and return to our normal lives."
