𝙬𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩

it's the year 2020 and the most parts of the world are locked inside their homes due to the corona virus. the ren-gyllenhaal family──jake, rose, hugo, levi, little mei, and robin──in quarantine mode would include:

✾ rose and jake rolling in bed and in bed as they savor the peace and quiet before they start the day

✾ levi skipping into his parents' room and jumping on their bed followed by hugo, who is rubbing the sleep away from his eyes, and robin

✾ rose and jake work as a team: rose pads her way to mei's room while jake and the boys make breakfast

✾ pancakes are a crowd favorite in the household

✾ chaotic facetime sessions with blake and ryan because──when the adults try to talk──the kids always find a way to climb in their parents' laps and grab the phone because they want to join in the conversation

✾ eventually, ryan, jake, and the kids talk about the monsters in the closet so rose and blake just slip away and facetime by themselves

✾ hugo's treehouse is finally getting built with all the free time

✾ rose almost has a heart attack because hugo is hanging upside down from the tree and jake is by her side taking pictures

✾ of course, levi wants to join his older brother but his mother's stern stare was too much to handle

✾ "jake, get our son to come down! it looks too dangerous."
     "what are you talking about, baby? he could replace tom as peter parker!"

✾ home-schooling the boys!!

✾ "levi, what sound does a cow make?"
     "woof!"
      "wow, he gets his brains from his dad and uncle ryan."

✾ "dad, i don't think i believe in god."
     "hugo──i──why is that?"
     "i don't know. . .he's like santa claus for adults. is it okay if i don't believe in god?"
     "it's fine, buddy. you can believe in anything you want."
     "i do believe in you and mom."

✾ with her older brothers running around, mei has many attempts to stand and walk and her parents are just delighted in watching her said attempts

✾ lot and loooots of days spent in the backyard

✾ making dumplings!!!

✾ jake is covered in flour because he insists in mei sitting on his lap so he could teach her

✾ the boys and rose teach jake mandarin

✾ "levi, you can't just bite your sister's leg!"
    "but, moooom, shobe (little sister) is soooo chunky!"

✾ the whole household always ends up sleeping late because all the kids have so much energy

✾ when levi is running around the house and hugo is impersonating a whale, rose and jake just stare at each other and sigh tiredly

✾ "why aren't they tired?" "seriously, we need to invent something."

✾ when the kids go to bed, there's a lot of kinky sex™ and the handcuffs are bound to come out

✾ however, there are also days where jake just pulls rose into his arms because he knows she's worrying too much about what's going on in the outside world

✾ "you think we'll ever go back to normal?"
     "rose, baby, i want to say yes but i just──i just don't know."
     ". . .okay. at least we have each other, right?"
     "of course. you're my whole life."
