Mr Brown's eye felt like weights as he struggled to open them. His body refusing to leave it's dream state, but his mind awake and fully aware of the dangers around. Something was off his goosebumps where gone, he rather felt warm. The ground was soft and comfortable, and most shocking was his leg. The soft but firm embrace of a splint had replaced the jabbing pain of his legs.

"Dad... Dad can you hear me" came a female voice.

"She sounds like...like she was close. She sounds like she cares. She sounds like everlyn" thought brown as he forced his eyes open.

The bright light pierced his eye like a hot metal sword. His head aching as pain shot through his body.
The painting of a bowl of fruit focused and blurred, as his body adjusted to conciousness.

"Dad" he heard someone shout, as female hugged him, her hair black, skin soft, he wished his eyes would adjust so he could see her well. As his mind spun around the circumstance he found himself " is this heaven....that's Ashley's voice is she dead.....or am I alive" he wondered as his vision finally focused.

"Ashley" he muttered, jets of hot tears running down his face.

"Dad it's me your ok, we found you, me and Mr Akash, you gonna be ok" she said hugging him, with tears running down her red cheeks .

"Where is Ray" Mr Brown said as he sat up, his ribs giving out cracking sounds with every move he made.

"I'm here old man what do you want " said Ray as he walked over to Brown, with an axe rested on his shoulder.

"Are you ok" Brown said as he tried to stand, only to be brought back down by the sharp pain that shot from his leg and chest.

"Dad sit you need rest, you can't stand now" said Ashley as she sat beside him.

Rays face reddened and his brows narrowed as he raised his voice

" why are you acting like you care, why do you act like we mean anything to you huh. Your nothing but a scum, all you do is prey on people. Like you preyed on mom" he said as he looked at Ashley.
"Ashley he killed mom, the man you risked your life to save killed our mum.
He deprived you of the love of a mother for his own selfish gain" Ray said as he started to pace around the room.

"And so what" Ashely began," he made a mistake, and he has to live with it" she said as she stood up " you act like I'm your responsibility, like your the only one who cared about mum.

"But guess what? you were no better, you constantly caused her to cry but did you care!, Of course not it was from one girl to the other.
So don't stand here and tell me who I can or cannot save.
You are not the saint you paint !" She concluded as she walked out.

Ray stood there quiet and shocked, he tried to say something but he found no words, he stared at his dad before shouting "we move out in 10 minutes with or without you" then walking out of the room and slamming the door.

Mr Brown stayed rooted on his chair, not in the least concerned about the argument. For all he cared it had always been like that. "Those two where like two magnet that are never on the same pole". Well at least they had always been he thought, as he took in the beauty of the fruit painting on the wall.

"Who knew having 2 spare room would be so useful" came a voice from the door.

"Oh Akash, I didn't hear you come in, and yes I knew it would be useful just not this way" Brown said as he grunted from trying to move his sides.

"Sir I would really prefer you call me by my first name , Saif"

"Well then Saif, I hear your to blame for me exsisting this long.
I'm really grateful"
