The flickering neon light from the 24hrs sign at the gate of the motel, stood as Wilson's only companion.

Its light keeping the darkness of the night at bay. The room was dimly lit thanks to the shattered moon and Jackson's idea of putting the lights out to prevent unnecessary attention.

The cries of a pesky cricket served as a good back up singer to the gunshots in the distance.

So far in the past one hour, 4 fighter jets had flown by only to explode in a fiery ball as it approached the city. Every explosion rocking his insides.

He was stuck imagining how the war would look like, no matter how much he tried to stop himself, he couldn't shake off the sight of everyone he had killed..

Layla's calm face after she warned him about a worshipper, his dad's crazy bloodlust eyes, the ranger he had run over and the sound of his bones crushing.

Every memory increased the amount of sweat forming on his forehead, making him anxious and justifying his next action as he pointed an arrow towards the source of a shuffling sound.

"Hold up wilson chill, its me Naj"

"Oh sorry my bad"

"Why are you up"

"That's not the question, the question should be, why are we sleeping.

"I mean the whole city is overrun by aliens and zombies, Toni has a rod in his leg, my parents are dead and we are in a motel room with a group of random guys.
"How is this ok"

"Wilson look at me-" Naj said as she squat in front of him and placed her hands on his face "- Toni's gonna be ok, and as for this group, they are millitary, they risked their lives for us and they are all we've got".

He sighed " I guess so...."
"So are we gonna talk about that night" Naj said as she leaned against the wall, Letting the moonlight illuminate Wilson's sad face once more.

"What night."

"Wilson we are past this, you know what I mean"
"Look it was just a one night thing she didn't really mean anything to me".

"Well if you say so, just let me know, do you still love me" she said as her heart began to beat faster, something she had thought only zombies could cause.

"Honestly, I don't know" Wilson said his eyes fixed on the hypnotic dance of the motel sign.

Naj's slow sobs soon enough sliced the silence of the room, digging a hole in Wilson's heart as he fought the urge to hold her and say its alright.

But it was for the best, he knew he had to do it. She can't still be dating him when he executes his plan.
He hated that he had to this, but he needed redemption in some way.

"It will save her " he thought.

Morning rolled in silently, its light brightening the room as the red Roses beside Naj brought out their true colors.

The room in it's self wasn't bad, as far as motels go. The floor ,was covered with clean red rugs that complemented the orange wall paper on the walls.

Although she was in the second room, that served as a living room, she could see all the girls asleep on the two beds in the next room, which in her opinion had too much red.

The roses that laid next to her felt rather strange. "Who would give me roses at night" she wondered as she strained to prevent her head from drifting into the events of last night.
