The weather had been really poor for days which had slowed Kun and Seoyeon down. It still hadn't cleared up completely as they arrived in Gwangju a day later than they had planned. The cold air prickled against their faces as they walked down the street that led them into the city. Facing the gusts of wind and drizzle, they pushed through to their final destination.

Seoyeon knew exactly where they were going. She'd had many talks with Josh back at their old camp about the community and its location. She had even received a piece of paper with directions written on it that would lead the way through the ghost town. Instead of street names it mentioned key points like 'the half broken horse statue' and 'the burned out car in the middle of the road'. Seoyeon held it firmly in her hands and had found it fairly easy to figure out the first direction.

With each step she felt more excited to finally have a real chance at a future.

With each step Kun felt the complete opposite and was starting to brace himself for the possibility that they would find absolutely nothing at all. And if that was the case, he didn't know how he could ever make things better for Seoyeon again.

"Seoyeon, are you sure you still want to go?" Kun asked suddenly. He didn't want to ask, but he felt the urge to protect her from facing a major let-down.

"Do you really have to ask?" Seoyeon replied, smiling from ear to ear.

He shook his head. He knew he wouldn't be able to change her mind, so he decided to drop the subject and followed her trail through the ruined city in silence.

He didn't really have any time to worry about what would happen later on, he had to focus on the present and the dangers that might be lurking behind every corner. As Seoyeon read the directions, Kun scanned the streets for the Undead or other danger, like humans who could try to steal their weapons and the few food items they had left.

His handgun remained in his bag, intending to save the last few bullets in case a serious situation arose, choosing instead to rely on his machete. He held it tightly in his right hand, his knuckles a stark white, contrasting his warm beige skin tone, as he continued to follow his girlfriend through the so far empty streets.

"Walker," Kun stated out of nowhere, raising his voice slightly to warn Seoyeon who wasn't paying much attention to her surroundings.

He skipped forward, wielding the machete with skill and precision. It didn't take long for him to kick the zombie to the ground and stick the blade down its throat before disconnecting its head from its spine.

They crossed paths with a few more lone zombies and Kun had taken them out with the same ease, with Seoyeon not even having to look up from the directions she was so fixated on.

"It should be right behind this half standing up building," Seoyeon said, folding the piece of paper and putting it back in her satchel. "Come on!" She grabbed Kun's hand and led him around it.

When the other side came into view, they were met by a large crater and Kun was quick to realize he had been right all along. There was no sign of any underground lair and he could see it in his girlfriend's eyes that she realized it, too.

"Look for a hatchway, will you?" She asked, not wanting to admit to herself that all hope was lost.

"Babe..." Kun said, but trailed off as he watched Seoyeon jump into the crater, desperately looking for any sign of an underground complex.
