It had taken Kun a while to come to terms with Xiaojun's and Taeil's deaths. He had been accustomed to death all around him, but until then it had never been anyone as close to him as his own best friends. The only thing that made the news a little more bearable was the fact that he was reunited with Seoyeon and the old group. It made him feel a little less alone.

Being treated as 'God's miracle' by the Wanderers of Shadows had also given him many other things to focus on instead. When Kun had returned not only alive but unscathed, it had caused quite a stir among the believers. No one that had left the group had made it back to them before. They genuinely believed that it was impossible to survive outside of a protected area while on your own yet Kun had accomplished it and by doing so, gained immense respect and admiration.

Some of them went as far as saying that it was God himself who had protected Kun on his lonesome journey, and had been the one to lead him back to the group. They believed he was the sign they needed, telling them not to give up. Kun had returned to save and protect them.

Seoyeon didn't like the sound of it and even Kun was skeptical of their intentions, but he enjoyed the perks that came with his newly acquired status nonetheless.

He was getting an extra scoop of food during breakfast and dinner, given candy bars without having to ask, allowed to have an alcoholic beverage by merely asking for it and the older ladies would do his washing for him so he was never out of fresh underwear or shirts.

He didn't even have to do anything in return. Seoyeon knew it wouldn't last, but she let her boyfriend take advantage of the situation, knowing he deserved it after everything he had been through.

After the Outbreak, the weather in South Korea had started to change. The radiation seemed to have not only affected the dead, but the climate as well. The country used to have proper seasons, but these days consisted of frequent downpours no matter the time of year. A reflection of the surviving members' moods.

Kun didn't mind the rain and ever since his return, Seoyeon had stopped hating it as much as it meant more time spent in her boyfriend's arms. Their days would begin with breakfast, Kun enjoying the extra eggs he received, after which they would return to their barrack and snuggle together in bed.

Kun threaded his fingers through Seoyeon's long brown hair, each strand curling around his fingers.

The feeling of having someone play with her hair, as well as being full, made Seoyeon drowsy. Her eyelashes fluttered as she struggled to stay awake.

"You look so peaceful," Kun whispered and leaned down to kiss her forehead.

With her eyes closed, her lips lifted upward in the most genuinely sweet smile with a touch of bashfulness. It rushed an unexpected warmth through Kun.

"Even on rainy days you're still my ray of sunshine."

"Oh my god," Seoyeon snorted. "You can be so cheesy at times."

She had opened her eyes again and shifted her position, looking up through her eyelashes at Kun. "You would make a great songwriter, you know?"

"Too bad I don't have my piano anymore," he shrugged in response.

"Maybe we can get someone to find one for you," Seoyeon laughed, teasing him a little. "You're like their God now. I'm sure they'd do anything to please you."

"Oh shut up," Kun retorted, pulling the tiny pillow from under his head and playfully hitting his girlfriend across the face with it.

Seoyeon buried her head in her arms, giggling as Kun continued the play fight, hitting her once more before changing his tactics and tickling her sides.
