Ellie Dolores Stevenson was not your average girl for she was one of the 43 children mysteriously born on October 1st, 1989. Her ability was a small one, she often paralleled it to Number Two's of The Umbrella Academy. She called them 'enhanced reflexes' or the ability to catch falling objects, block detriments, and react instantaneously to what others take more time to react to. She was quite happy with them, they helped her catch annoying flies that would buzz around her as she sat in the park.

Unlike the other enhanced super-humans in her area, Ellie was not apart of the Umbrella Academy. In fact, her mother had slipped through Hargreeves' grasp. She and her husband had longed for a child but unfortunately were never able to conceive, even after years of trying. This is why they welcomed the unexpected child with open arms and quickly returned home, telling their families that they had adopted. They lived a comfortable life, her father was a doctor and her mother inherited a large about of money from her father's business. This allowed them to keep the real story behind their child a secret telling the reporters her birthday was October 2nd and not the 1st.

Ellie's powers weren't ones that were easily detectable or hard to control so they never had to worry about them being detected in public and it was their family secret. Until she had gone with her father to the bank, getting money for a Mother's Day gift that her father had insisted on paying in cash.

Everything was going fine... until over a dozen men came rushing in with guns. Next thing Ellie knew she was separated from her father and thrown against a wall, hands bound together. She knew she easily could've stopped it and escaped, the robber had led her near the entrance.

'Remember to control it. I know it's hard but we can't have anything suspicious linking you to the other super-humans. I can't have Reginald find you and try and take you away.' Her father's voice echoed through her head as the masked robber placed duct tape over her mouth. Ellie found this odd because she was one of the few in the bank who hadn't been screaming. She was just trying to look for her dad. But then the gunshots rang out. It was then Ellie began to feel scared, she had predicted the guns were for show, to intimidate. But then she saw a body on the floor.

"I heard a rumor." The voice made her look up from her tied hands that she was trying desperately to free herself from. She could recognize that phrase from anywhere despite not being that big of a fan. The Umbrella Academy has come to save the day. Finally, the ropes came loose and she was able to slowly inch away and tear the duct tape off her mouth. Turning the corner, she was met face to face with a gun.

"Get back with the others!" Ellie scoffed, her fear had turned into cockiness, knowing it was time to test her powers.

"Or what?" Time slowed as the man fired the gun. Ellie grabbed the bullet and inch in front of her nose and threw it back at him. Not once had her powers made everything in slow motion, she'd have to research it later. Just as time sped up again a boy appeared next to her, ready for action. He stopped short, noticing the dead guy on the ground.

"How did you do that?" He asked. He wasn't stupid, he was far from it and a part of him knew exactly how it had happened. In fact, he had a witty comment prepared but he became so awestruck by her beauty and said that instead.

"The same way you appear out of nowhere. Please don't tell anybody," she said quickly. The boy smirked, finally returning to his usual self he grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips.

"Wouldn't dream of it. The name's Five, by the way," he pressed a gentle kiss on her hand and backed away.

"I'm aware. It seems like you have a job to do," she exclaimed with a slight blush. Five nodded.

"Until we meet again," and then he jumped away, leaving the girl flustered by his boldness.

Unbeknownst to them, they would indeed meet again. Just... not in the circumstances that they had hoped.
