C. 50 The Last Mission Pt. 3

Why didn't I think of that?

I feel defeated and I'm whining like a kid right now.

Jin was so smart to think of that. It's like he has a different way of seeing this mission. It's genius!

Now, the only obstacle left,  if his theory is correct, is which key will open the door knob?

We have 14 keys. There are 3 red ones, 3 black ones, 3 pink ones, 3 white ones, and 2 blue ones.

Which is an odd color to add to this monochrome set of keys.

And if we aren't careful, we can accidentally open the door.

Which won't allow us to get the doorknob open.

"Ok, then. What key do you think will open this door?" Yoongi asked as he looked through the lock.

"We're trying to find the one that will open the doorknob, hyung" Hoseok told Yoongi and the elder rolled his eyes.

Yooongi sighed, "If we find the one that will open the door, then we will exclude it from the rest."

"But how will we know which one is the one that opens the door? They all look fairly new and untouched." Lisa asked as she held up all the keys.

"You're right." I replied, "How will we?.."

"Guys!" Taehyung, who was coming from the table shouted as he ran to where we were.

"What is it?" I asked.

He held up one of the Red keys.

He said, "This has a scratch on it formed into a diamond."

"Huh? Really? Then that must be the one?" Namjoon asked as he looked closer, holding the key in his hands.

Taehyung nodded but said something rather doubtful, "But- I saw that this blue key also has a scratch, a circle one."

"What's the deal with the scratches? It could be any key." Jungkook, who sat beside Jimin, shouted from the far left, sitting on a pile of books.

"If you use the key a lot, the paint will become worn out and scratched, or you can even scratch the paint to remember certain keys." Lisa shouted back, "So this is a big deal."

She turned back to face us.

"My bets are on the red one." She told us, "I mean- its scratch is a diamond!"

Hoseok agreed, "Me too, Jaydie might be using the circle one to trick us."

"I don't know, it seems kind of dodgy." Yoongi said.

There was a moment of tense decision making,  no one was talking.

Namjoon sighed, "Let's get this over with, use the red key and we'll be out of here."

Taehyung nodded, and left the blue key on the table.

I don't know. This feels like we're going to get screwed.
