Carter's POV

"Nail polish, Shoe polish... But teeth polish! Nice plan Carter, I am really proud of you", Jayden said patting my back.

I flashed him one of my million dollar smiles. Of course anyone would be proud of me. This was the most genius shit I had come up with. I was proud of myself.

"I can ace this shit, Jay. Scarlett won't even know what hit her."

Jayden nodded encouragingly and gave me a double thumbs up. But something was amiss. He looked like he was hiding something. Something was clearly bothering him. But I was too pleased with myself to ask anything. Maybe he was still dreading being partnered with Riley for a project. I shrugged it off and decided to focus on my plan.

Soon, it would finally be the time to execute it.

It was dead silent and I could only hear the crickets chirping. The entire campus was illuminated by the beautiful full moon and since we were well away from the city, stars shone brightly seeming, like a sparkling river in the sky.

I jumped from the window of my room, leaving a sleeping Jayden behind and pillows placed strategically under my covers to make it seem like I was asleep.

My heart nearly burst out of my chest, when my foot slipped on the slanted rooftop, but I caught myself quickly.

And I could suddenly feel the lingering warmth of Scarlett's touch when she had helped me once before. Shaking off the phantom feeling of her hands on my arms, I set off towards the girls' dorms.

"Having good looks and flirting like a love god helps many people", I mumbled to myself as I remembered how I had pulled out the location of Scarlett's room from her shy roommate, Kaira.

I grinned happily to myself when I spotted her room. I slipped the bottle in my hands into my jacket and pried open the window.

Halloween was going to come early for Scarlett.

Entering Scarlett's room stealthily via the window, I took baby steps towards the bathroom. I made sure that I didn't wake her roommate up.

Damn, her legs were on the floor and she was on the bed. Wow she was a messy sleeper. Well, who was I to judge? She definitely had made my work easier.

On my way to her bathroom, I almost stumbled towards Scarlett's bed, to find nothing but neatly arranged pillows.

Hmmm... I must say our brains kind of work in sync. But where did she go at this hour? I needed to make sure I got out before she came in.

Walking up to her sink, I saw a toothpaste box. Her name was written on it. OMG! How dumb is she? Who writes names on toothpaste boxes? Well, I really couldn't complain. I had hit a  jackpot.

Slowly, twisting the toothpaste cap, I removed the bottle of teeth polish I had in my pocket and poured its contents into the toothpaste.

Since it was colourless and gained colour only after being applied to the teeth, it was unnoticeable. After I was done, I carefully placed everything in its place and silently tiptoed to the window.

Tomorrow will be a rad day.

But just before I left, I saw a glimpse of a photograph on Scarlett's study table.

Scarlett's lips were pulled in a wide grin. She did look really gorgeous and she was in between a man and Riley. The man had the same green eyes as her, so I supposed it was her father. Beside him was a woman with red hair, just a few shades darker than Scarlett's and she obviously her mother. Beside Riley stood a man who was no doubt her father, They had the same dark eyes and wide smile but you could see the sadness twinged in her father's smile.
