Jayden's P.O.V

I grimaced when I saw Carter lying on the floor in the balcony, sleeping. He was probably stargazing again.

I had been yelling and ringing the bell for the past ten minutes for him to open the door of his luxurious penthouse but that asshole had been sleeping in the balcony the whole time. Finally, I went hunting for the spare key that he had given in the lobby, convinced the receptionist that I wasn't a murderer, and opened the door myself.

After trying various methods of trying to wake him up, I finally dumped a bucket full of water on his face, laughter already bubbling up when I imagined his reaction.

He was always a heavy sleeper.

"AHHH, who is this? I swear to god, I have the best lawyers in the world. I can press charges against you for theft or trespassing." Carter screamed as he rubbed his sleepy eyes. Always ruining his I-am-deadly effect.

"It's me, you doofus." I told him, laughing hysterically at his reaction. Carter's morning reactions are the best. My mind quickly went back to the morning where his hair was dyed red.

That had been the most epic moment in history. If only we could have more moments like that

"Jayden, what the heck? You could have just rang the bell instead of barging in. Houses have bells for a reason." He shouted, but heaved a sigh of relief that it was only me.

"Yeah sure, for your kind information, I have brains! Of course, I did that, you idiot. You were obviously sleeping on the balcony. Now what are you going to say, huh? Houses have balconies for a reason? Asshole." I said irritated and walked into the living room, leaving him there like a soaked mat.

"Anyways, let's netflix and chill....." I drawled, giving a suggestive look by winking and licking my lips dramatically.

"Eww Jay, get lost. I have already invited other guys for that. I don't need you." Carter said, making it worse. And that was true. Both ladies and gentlemen fell for Carter.

"Yeah whatever, let's do something to kill time. Let's play golf." I proposed.

And just like that we managed to have a bonding session together. Golf was one of our favourite sports, but for some reason, Carter always managed to beat me in it. He was too good. Never mind the fact that it made me feel like we were two middle aged rich men on a day off.

As we were playing our final round, I got a call.

It was Riley.

Her name still made my heart rate skyrocket. Her name flashed on the screen as I stared for a few moments at my phone.

I inhaled, clicked on the 'accept'' button. Picking up the call, I heard her say, " Yo Jay, I got a plan. Make sure Carter is not near you."

I scurried away as far as possible without it seeming suspicious. I glanced once at Carter and looked away immediately before he noticed. Carter was too engrossed in his game to even pay attention to me.

"Yes, Riley. Now what?" I asked curiously, raising my eyebrow.

I could hear the barely concealed excitement in her voice when she spoke. "Ok, so we are going to a drive-in", She said, making me smile. But my smile faltered after she continued saying, "All four of us- you, me, Scarlett and Carter."

"The best part is that they will go together!" She screamed happily as if she was given a Rolls-Royce car. Oh, did I forget to mention, she loved cars. Especially Rolls Royce cars.

"And how is that so, madam?" I asked doubt filling my voice which was also edged with panic. Riley suggesting such things meant trouble. Always.
