The months went by as Pha and Yo grew closer and closer together. During his last year of high school Pha was elected class president and started to work for his father every second weekend. His love for Yo grew with each passing day. Yo was the seemingly perfect lover for him, Pha thought to himself, and he was never going to let go. When Pha's graduation came around he was stoked to be named valedictorian. Yo was so proud of his boyfriend and gave him a solid gold Rolex as a graduation present. Pha's parents were also so proud of their boy and the man he was becoming.
You see Pha's parents were well into their 40's when he came along. His mother had struggled with fertility issues her whole life and was told it would be near impossible for her to conceive. It was a very joyous day when they received the news that Mrs Kongthanin was 2 months pregnant. She was 47 when the news came and was happy to be finally having her little family. Learning how much his parents had struggled for children and had only gotten their little miracle so late in life had made Pha want as many kids as he could and all before, he was 30. He wanted his parents to live long enough to see their grandkids grow up and spend some quality time with them.
Pha had been up front with Yo from the beginning and said if he didn't want kids than this relationship wouldn't work out. Yo knew how much this meant to Pha and he himself wanted to have a little family of his own. He understood that time was a factor as Pha's parents were now in their 60's but they both agreed they wouldn't rush into any decisions until they were both ready. Pha's want/need for children was so strong that he had been ready to let go of Yo even before their relationship had really begun if the boy didn't want a family.
However, a year after he graduated, and had begun working fulltime under his father, Pha's parents had been in an unfortunate car accident and died on their way to the hospital. Pha never got the chance to give his parents any grandchildren and that really ate at his heart. Losing one's parents is never easy, but this just added to the boy's heartache. Yo stood by his boyfriend and was there to comfort him in his time of need. They had a few discussions on the matter and the couple both agreed that once they were married, they would really look into their options and see where they can go from there. If Pha had his way he would of already had everything planned out and raring to go but he knew Yo wasn't quite there yet, as the boy wanted to get a head start on university before he even thinks about starting their family.
During the next couple of months, the summer holidays before Yo goes off to study at one of the top universities in the country, Pha was slowly transitioning into his role as the new CEO of his company. Yo was patiently there by his side as his boyfriend dealt with the loss of his parents and trying to run a business. Despite his new workload, and the grieve he was feeling over losing 2 of the most important people to him, Pha made sure Yo knew he was loved and appreciated. He knew Yo had been there by his side, supporting him through all this and wanted his boyfriend to know how much it meant to him.
The day before Yo was off to university Pha had taken his sweetheart out to a very exclusive restaurant and it was just after the main course when Pha decided it was time to take their relationship to the next level. He took a small white box out of his pocket and got down on one knee in front of his boyfriend. You could see the surprise written on Yo's face as his lover knelt before him.
"Yo, from the moment I met you I felt this amazing spark between us and as we got to know one another I feel in love with you. You are the best thing to happen to me." Pha then opened the box and inside was a beautiful white gold ring, laced with small diamonds. "Will you do the honours of becoming my husband?" Pha asked. Yo was tearing up a little as he nodded his head profusely "Yes of course." The other's around them had stopped to watch the proposal and were happy for the newly engaged couple.
Pha slid the ring onto Yo's ring finger and then leaned in to kiss his now fiancé. On the drive home Pha openly admitted that he didn't want a long engagement and that if possible he would like to marry Yo in a month or 2. He was so sure Yo was the one that he didn't feel the need to prolong the wedding too much. Yo was both excited and nervous about the upcoming wedding. He was positive he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Pha but this all felt like a dream and that he'd wake up any minute and be back in freshman year.
That night the boys spent it in each other's arms, making sure this night will be one they never forget. The next morning Pha got up early to prepare Yo a special breakfast as his fiancé was about to start his first day of university in roughly 3 hours. Yo had been accepted into one of the finest universities in the country, which was no surprise as he scored the top marks on the entrance exam. Luckily, the university was only an hour away from Pha's workplace so as a graduation present his parents had bought them a place halfway between the two. This would allow the pair to be home a lot more and spend some quality time together.
Yo woke up just after 6:30 and could smell the food from their room and after freshening himself up a little made his way towards the kitchen. Pha had just finished plated up the food when his fiancé arrived. He gestured for Yo to take a seat as he put a plate in front of the boy. "Are you ready for today?" Pha asked, sensing Yo was a little on edge. "A little. I just hope I can do well." Pha reassured his boyfriend "You will do great baby. You are the smartest person I know so you have nothing to worry about." They continued their meal as Pha and Yo talked about their upcoming day.
Once they were both done Yo offered to clean up as Pha was the one who made them the food. Pha wanted to object but Yo wouldn't take no for an answer. By the time they were done Pha had to head off and leave Yo to get to class on his own. He originally wanted to take the day off but unfortunately, he had a particularly important meeting first thing in the morning that he could not skip or postpone.
An hour after Pha left Yo got himself ready and made his way towards the campus. He was going to be studying biochemistry and today was their orientation. Upon arrival Yo noticed there were quite several students already here waiting. As he was waiting patiently with the others he was approached by a fellow classmate, he assumed. "Hi, my name's Tew and I'm studying biology. What's your name and what are you going to be studying?" Yo looked at Tew as he replied, "My name's Yo and I'm studying biochemistry." Tew smiled at Yo as he spoke again "Well we probably have a few classes together but even if we don't do you want to be my friend?" Yo smiled back and nodded his head as he handed Tew his phone. "You can give me your number." So far Yo's first day was going rather well, and he couldn't wait to get started on his actual classes.
