The Love That Is No More

Trying To Move On

After reading the letter Pha felt a sense of relief. Although he had loved Yo at one point in his life, and a part of him still loved the young man, he was glad that their relationship was coming to an end. Before the birth of his 4th child Pha was still adamant that Yo was worth it and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with him but once Yiwhan was born that all changed. Ever since he discovered May was pregnant with their first child he had slowly been pushing Yo out of his life, so much so that when he saw the divorce papers he was eager to sign them and let Yo go live his own life. Yo was right about one thing; his family was the most important thing to him that he was willing to let Yo go without a fight.

He knew seeing Yo wasn't a good idea, as he was pretty sure Yo would just be screaming at him the whole time, so he just sent the young man a short text. "Sorry Yo but I don't want to see you. This is for the best as you are now aware that I've found my true happiness." It was horrible and Pha knew it would break Yo's heart, but he had to know that their relationship had been over long before this. Pha then called up work and explained that he would be coming in late as he had some stuff, he needed to do first.

He then went and moved the boxes into his garage before he looked at the divorce papers. Yo only wanted 3 things from their marriage, the house, 20 million dollars and a no contact order. Pha was willing to give Yo the house and agree to no contact but a part of him didn't want to give his soon to be ex-husband those 20 million dollars, as his own father was rich. He called Yo immediately and once the young man picked up, he was furious. "I can't believe you're asking me for $20 million. If you are that desperate for money, why don't you go ask your father?"

Yo was shocked by Pha's tone and was barely holding it together when he replied "Considering you not only cheated on me but got some bitch pregnant all behind my back I thought $20 million was the least you could do." Pha was screaming at Yo "Well you can go to hell. I am not paying you a single penny and if that's not good enough then take it up with my lawyers." This was a side of Pha Yo had never seen before. Tears were threatening to fall down his cheeks as he spoke "I loved you with all my heart Pha. I would have done anything for you. I know how much you wanted kids, but I wasn't ready and instead of respecting my decision you went behind my back and knocked someone else up. The least you could do is pay me what I think I'm owed for your betrayal."

Pha was ready to argue some more, go on about how he had a family to take care of, when Yo immediately hung up the call. He tried calling back and eventually after the 4th try, he got an answer. "What do you want Pha? You already ruined my life. I wasted almost 8 years on a piece of shit like you. I cannot believe I ever thought you loved me. Why don't you just go back to that slut of a woman and leave me alone." By this point Yo was crying uncontrollably and for the first time in what seemed like forever Pha had felt guilty for what he had done to the man he had once loved. "Yo I'm so sorry ok. I didn't mean for it to go like this, but I can't turn back time. What's done is done. If you really want the money, then I'll give it to you."

Yo had somehow managed to stop his tears as he listened to Pha's apology. He knew Pha was only saying this to defuse the situation and it hurt. The man he had loved for almost 8 years had gone and was replaced by this selfish, inconsiderate asshole. "Keep your money" Yo said in an eerily calm manner "I just hope the press doesn't find out about your dirty little secret. Would be such a shame." With that Yo immediately hung up the call and blocked Pha on everything he could.

Pha was frozen for a few minutes, worried that his soon to be ex-husband would go to the press with this story and completely ruin his reputation. Although Yo was in a lot of pain, he wasn't heartless and as soon as he saw the video, he had deleted it so that he wouldn't be tempted to use it in a moment of weakness. Despite having his heartbroken he still loved the man and knew it would be some time before he could move on.

Meanwhile while Pha was standing there frozen May had come outside to see what all the yelling was about. When she saw Pha still as a statue she walked over to him and wrapped an arm around the man. She then noticed all the boxes and realised Yo had not only read her email but decided to kick Pha out of his life for good. She knew doing this was selfish on her part, but she had 4 kids, and another one on the way she hoped, to look after. Pha relaxed once he felt May's presence and turned to look at her with a smile. Pha knew deep down he didn't love May but she was the mother of his children and he wanted her know that meant a lot to him.

"Where are the children?" he asked May, curious as to why she would leave them alone. "Oh, the housekeeper had arrived while you were on the phone, so I have her looking after them. I thought we could spend a little time alone in case you wanted to vent out any feelings you have." Pha was grateful that May was still by his side, even though he was fairly sure she was the one who let Yo know about their affair. He leaned in and kissed her lips before he spoke "I know this seems so sudden, especially since I'm still technically married to Yo, but I want you to know that I appreciate all you've done for me. I am forever grateful that you've given me 4 beautiful children and hopefully another one on the way. Once my divorce with Yo is finalised, I want to marry you. I am going to let the whole world know that the little angels are mine. Until then I am going to have their birth certificates changed so they will have me labelled as the father."

May was so touched that after all this he was still going to be there for her and their children. She tried not to cry as she felt that her life was falling into place. Pha's love may still be out of reach but she had something no one else had given him and that is a family, one he was proud of. Pha ended up taking the entire day off work and spent it with May and their children as he knew that this story would break headlines soon, even if Yo kept his mouth shut, and their lives would be chaos.
