"Ava. You're an Alpha"
I didn't move a muscle. Hell! Was I even breathing? "That's impossible" I replied in shock. "I am a female wolf. Only men can be Alphas. I was the second born. This doesn't make any sense. My whole life- "
"You saw your reflection, didn't you?" he said. "Your stronger than the average wolf, bigger, faster, and those eyes don't lie. You're just like me."
"I'm not like you! You are the devil himself."
I thought back to what Ms. Gretta taught me growing up. He was right. I grew up believing wolves of that caliber were just legends. I can't wrap my mind around the fact that I am an Alpha let alone a powerful one.
"This is too much" I said as I began to make my way back to my headquarters. He walked beside me with his long strides. He calmly kept up with my rapid steps continuing his lecture.
"That is why you were able to kill Alpha Darius. But In order to be an Alpha, you would have to be the daughter of an Alpha." He prodded further.
"Just drop it!" I stated. I can see my eyes reflecting in his as I glared into his silver ones. "Did you know?" I added with suspicion laced in my voice. "I'm not some science experiment. Tell me the truth."
He paused for a moment as if he were struggling with some sort of internal battle. His jaw ticked, making it evident how he was trying to control himself.
"No. I stumbled upon you killing my friend and I thought I would have a little fun before I took your life the same way you took his." His voice was low yet filled with so much hate.
My eyes were wide with unbelief and uncertainty of what he would do to me next.
I didn't say a word.
"That was the plan at first. When I came into your room, I was going to avenge Darius. But when I saw you, my wolf wouldn't allow me to. I have never hesitated to kill anyone before now..." He whispered as he looked into my eyes. It felt like he could see my soul. I couldn't help but to look away.
"I'm leaving tonight to go back to my pack and prepare for Darius's funeral. In three days, another pack is going to raid yours and take over. Alpha John is afraid, weak, and defenseless. We denied his requests for protection and we warned him of the raid to come. If I were you, I would gather my family and head into a pack that can protect you. Your welcome." He said right before vanishing into the trees.
