Floating through a dark abyss of obsidian black was pure bliss. Peace like this couldn't be bought or stolen. However, my view of darkness was quickly fleeting as everything turned bright red. Beams of light assaulted my eye lids as I heard curtains being tugged opened.

"Ms. Ava I am terribly sorry about waking you up, but I have orders." A delicate voice said. My adrenaline rocketed through the roof as I sprung up in confused consciousness. I was on edge and I needed answers.

Now.

I wrapped my hand around the girl's neck watching my metallic eyes reflect in her fear filled ones. "Where am I and how the hell do I get out of here? I growled. I could feel my claws pushing deeper into her skin as my anxiety rose higher.

"Ava Stop." A deep voice rang out. I know that voice. My grip loosened as I turned around with wide eyes searching for an explanation.

"Alpha Adonis?" I said with uncertainty evident in my voice. Seeing him sent a wave of relief over me but I needed to remain cautious. He is a demon in a sheep's clothing. The young girl fell to her knees coughing and wheezing with her hands to her neck.

"I am so sorry." I muttered apologies trying to help her back up. Two women quietly zoomed into the room and swept away her limp body as she fell unconscious.

"What am I doing here?" I asked throwing my hands up. I bit down clenching my jaw as I watched him take a seat on the gigantic couch across from the bed. He made me uncomfortable with his crisp black suit, accompanied with a gilded watch that out shone the sun. It was odd seeing him dressed so nicely amongst the ruffled sheets of my bed and my silk pajama shorts set. When did this happen?

"What's the last thing you remember?" He asked with little emotion in his voice. I stood with my arms crossed, scrunching my brows searching my memories. "Well, I went to sleep after speaking with Ms. G and then I got up to use the restroom." I thought out loud watching his face for any reaction.

"And..." He replied.

"And... that's it. Just tell me already because my patience nonexistent at this point."

His intense eyes shot up to mine silently warning me to tread lightly before he continued the conversation. "After that night we last spoke, I couldn't sleep. To my knowledge, there has never been a female Alpha and I felt responsible for you in a way. So, I sent someone to watch over you for me." He began.

"You sent someone to spy on me?" I replied as I began pacing the room.

"I sent someone to watch you. I just wanted to know that you would be safe. He was there during the attack discreetly protecting you from wolves that were headed your way. Everything was fine until he told me that you decided to stay..."

"So, You made him kidnap me because I wouldn't leave? Are you crazy?" I asked hysterically.

"You made your choice, so I made mine." He responded with an unsettling seriousness.

"Oh... So, you are crazy."

He shook his head as he stood up walking towards me. Matching his steps two to one, I backed up until my back hit the large window behind me. I have never seen him this close before. I studied his sharp jaw and gazed over his full lips. His chiseled face kissed with a scar only noticeable up close. His sweet forest scent disturbing my personal bubble with warmth and warning. My body seemed to heat up uncontrollably as he moved closer and closer. His now silver eyes stared deep down into mine. He placed his hands on both sides of me closing me in.

"If protecting my own makes me crazy then so be it. The truth is you know nothing about me. You only know what I want you to think you know love." He stated.

He pushed off the window leaving me with his shroud of mystery. "I'm going to head out to take care of some things. Someone should be stopping by shortly to give you a tour of the pack." He said.

"I decided to stay at my old pack because Mrs. Gretta refused to leave. I can't be here knowing she's out there." I breathed.

He paused briefly before turning to look at me over his broad shoulders. "I'll protect her the same way I protected you. Anything else Princess?"

"Yeah... Don't call me Princess." I stated with my face screwed up. He chuckled before opening the door and closing it behind him. Part of me felt happy he left so I can breathe again but the other half wanted to rewind time to experience him again.

I walked around the room delirious from our conversation. Opening the double doors to the closet my jaw dropped through the carpeted floors. There were gowns dipped in diamonds and gems. Huge mirrors that reflected the jeans and skirts located on the other end. Purses and shoes decorated another wall of the closet that towered above me. My closet back home only consisted of a rotation of 5 clothes. Three of which were uniform. This was the life I was supposed to live as the daughter of an Alpha.

Grabbing the plush towel, I made my way to the bathroom. After a few tries of trying to figure it out I turned the shower on. The bathroom filled with steam as I stripped down and stepped in. My eyes pooled with gratefulness knowing I was taking a warm shower. This all felt like a dream. My muscles relaxed as the water fell like rain onto me.

Alpha Adonis left me perplexed and more curious than ever. In that moment, I could see how mystery cloaked him the same way the steam now surrounded me. There was so much about him that was unknown. The only thing I knew for sure was that he was dangerous. My wolf felt at peace when I was around him, but I knew the merciless ruler he was. This nice act would not fool me.
