I got dressed in ripped blue jeans, a tangy orange short sleeved top and paired it with black sandals. I let my freshly washed curls fall down my back as I admired myself in the mirror. For the first time in my life, I felt pretty.
Gentle taps came from the door alerting me of my tour. I jogged to the door quickly swinging it open. A beautiful girl stood in front of me gleaming with a smile on her face.
"Hi Ava. My name is May and I will be your tour guide today. Are you ready?" She cheered with such excitement.
"Yes I am. Thank you." I replied with a smile. I wasn't used to such friendliness being that I never had friends to begin with.
I noticed a deep bite mark on her neck. She was marked by her mate. You could smell his scent all over her. How lucky to be claimed with such beautiful passion. Being that I haven't seen a mark like that in so long, my stare lingered longer than it should have.
She turned and began to walk as I followed her out the room. With every bouncy step she took, her ponytail swayed like a pendulum. Her sleek jet-black hair shined beautifully as we maneuvered our way down the twisted hallways. Her slender physique and long legs made it difficult for me to keep up with her strides. As she effortlessly floated through the hallway, I felt the light droplets of moisture on my nose trying to keep up with this fairy of a woman. It sucked that my wolf was enormous, but my human embarrassed me so much.
She stopped abruptly almost making me run into her sculpted figure. To our right were two large wooden double doors. It was elegant and carved with elaborate patterns of varying sizes and depth. I could smell his scent radiating from whatever lay beyond those doors.
"That is Alpha Adonis's room. Under no circumstances are you allowed in there. Anyway, let's get to the best part. Breakfast!" She said. As we walked away, my eyes lingered on those doors. My curiosity challenged me, and my imagination began to infect my mind with thoughts of what lay behind those doors.
Like the low rumble of an oncoming train, soon I began to hear the hustle and bustle of pack life. A swirl wooden table stretched throughout the room resting right outside of the kitchen. People laughed together, eating, and laughing. Men and women were cooking in the kitchen as most of the people sat in the huge dining space. Where I'm from, dining privileges were only intended for the Alphas family and yet this pack communes together as one.
"Would you like something to eat? I'm whipping up breakfast burritos for anyone who wants."
I turned my head to meet the gaze of yet another unfamiliar face. His avocado colored eyes captured me immediately pulling me deep into his world. His golden messy hair swayed past his eyes as he smiled at me. The veins in his arms stood out as he effortlessly carried fat platters of bread, fruit, and meats.
"Can I take one to go?" I asked not wanting to sit amongst all these people.
"Of course you can. I'm Jaxon by the way. You are?" He inquired while still balancing mountains of food.
"Ava."
The distance between us grew wider as May grabbed my hand swinging it back and forth.
"Hey. What about my burrito?" I complained as my cheeks grew warmer by the second.
"We won't be long." She replied with an overexaggerated wink. Before I knew it, I was strapped in a red two-door sports car and trails of smoke were left behind us. The pack territory was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. We passed an area full of colorful tents and stands.
"Is that a market?" I asked.
"Yea. Its where people can sell whatever products they like or trade them. I'll take you one day. Over there we have my favorite Italian restaurant and coming up on the right is the club. Alpha Adonis owns it. He isn't much of a clubber, but he knew his pack would appreciate the added night life."
"You know this is my first time being in a car." I confessed.
"No way! Your serious?" She replied in shock as I nodded my head. It felt good to let the wind blow across my face and feel the rays of the sun against my skin. There was nothing but good vibes here. I just wished Mrs. G could be here to experience this with me.
As we turned to head back, I spotted Alpha Adonis in the distance. Apparently, he ditched the suit top and dress shirt. He horsed around in his slacks from earlier, speeding around the field. He was He had the fluidity of water as he paraded around the kids under the sun. The group of boys beamed the ball at him before piling on top of their Alpha. I have never seen Adonis smile like that before. You could tell his pack adored him. He didn't rein in fear, but it seemed like he had a mutual respect for his people. Maybe all the horror stories about this pack really were just stories.
"What do you think about Alpha Adonis?" I asked May. She pondered as she continued to drive around the pack grounds. "He is the most caring person I have ever known. Outsiders think he is ruthless and intimidating but to his pack he is a charismatic leader. He is more than an Alpha to us. He is family." She answered.
"Are we talking about the same person?" I laughed.
"I know its hard to believe but give it time" She giggled tapping my shoulder.
We pulled into the garage still weak from random laughs about randomness. I liked May. Maybe she would be my first friend. As we parked, we heard a voice.
"Well hello. You must be Ava. Welcome dear. I am Adonis's mother. Call me Laura."
She stood tall above the low sports car we drove in in all her glistening beauty. Her long hair hung low all the way down to her hips. She had a soft smile that just begged me to smile back. I hopped out the car to properly greet her with a slight bow.
"And you must have thought you skipped out on training by giving our guest a tour hm?" She said to May. I looked between the two finally seeing the striking resemblance. The tall slim figures, long black hair, and big brown eyes. "Wait is May your daughter?" I asked feeling betrayed.
"Yup. And Adonis is my big bro and I'm his baby sis." She said with a playful giggle. I hope you enjoyed your tour Ava.
